No one. And Ken wont either. Back your system to beat ours. You've got the best collective of young midfield talent in the comp. Will be a cracker to see them going head to head

Agree with this statement. Premierships are not won by trying to nullify your opponent. Just ask Ross Lyon.

Our game is high pressure, high intensity on the ball or the opponent with the ball. We have also added the transition game from back to forward pretty well but we are heavily reliant on a stable back 6 to do this. Missing McKenzie has hurt us dearly and Jonas has made things much worse aiding the opponent with heaps of unforced errors.

It will be interesting to see who we select this week as it is likely we will be missing Butters & JHF who have injected life & energy into our midfield. Rosie is performing well but needs support. I am not sure if Houston is a solution in the midfield as he plays his best from half back. Wines is having a mare of a season so far and has been non influential in most games.

Ideally we would like to be at full strength with this game to see where we stand. But ultimately I'd rather have a full strength team in the finals by resting players now if they are sore or injured.

I dont get why tagging went out of fashion,

Send Boak to him, he has the athletic ability (fittest at the club) and the brains
Because if the tag doesn't work you're playing 17 v 18.

Transition to full team zones and press also made it harder to have a dedicated tagger.

Just because one player is tagging another doesn't mean they can't accumulate themselves. Kane Cornes could do it.
Not everyone is Ryan Crowley, or Ben Jscobs.

There are far more Crowley's and Jacobs' than there are Cornes' though. Even with Kane, he might have racked up touches, but didn't do much damage.

Brad Ebert tagging Kennedy in 2014 probably the last time I remember a Port player effectively tagging a mid while having a meaningful impact with the ball themselves.

Who are the players recently that have tried to tag and it not worked? (Terrorizing Lachie Neale aside)

Butters cleared of anything visible by scans.

Will line up.

Wolverine sub for it going pear shaped is a good idea.
Funeral scheduled for the next mercury retrograde.

The extent of it isn't.
I may make some crazy statements on here but not this.

Dixon is expected to play this Saturday, as is midfielder Zak Butters, who has been cleared of serious injury following scans on his hip.

Lol as expected everyone suddenly fit and available.
Two scenarios to what has happened…

1: The club conceded that Carlton was the game to lose and decided to rest everyone to prepare for Collingwood.

2: These players injuries are more serious than said in the media, but after getting belted by Carlton the club has panicked and rushed everyone back.

If anything I think McKenzie has definitely been brought back as a rotten corpse of him will be more effective then our captain.

It's pretty clear to me that they took the Carlton game as an opportunity to rest some sore players ahead of the tough stretch to come. This was probably planned prior to Carlton's recent resurgence. We probably figured we could potentially sneak a win with a sub par team or at the very worst lose a close one and hit the Collingwood game hard. Instead we got a massive loss that has derailed all of our hard won momentum just when we needed it most.
