Well the pies have only kicked more than 69 twice this year so i guess that kinda works but main thing is more goals than behinds, will you accept 20.20?
Not a real fan of 20.20
How about 20.10?

Not sure anything can match that capitulation. Especially watching Rhyce Shaw crap his pants and give up the goal to Lynchy.

Every time Shaw’s name comes up I think of that play. Can still it live playing out in front of me. And then I think oh wow he’s an AFL coach, there must really be something in the ‘you can be anything you want to be’ fairytale rubbish.

I think they're playing a bit of a scratch match today - so it could just be related to that. I don't think they would've made that decision yet at any rate.

I know our goal kicking has been discussed to death but I watched Tigers v West Coast and Cats vs Dogs and saw some classy kicking especially Cats when they got slaughtered in the first quarter, their set shot goal kicking was at another level especially Hawkins crucial goal from the pocket. Geez if we can sort out our efficiency, we’ll be putting teams away no problem.

I was watching Hawkins and the way he sets up exudes confidence. He is exactly like all the great full forwards I’ve seen in terms of routine and focus. Sure he will miss some, but he is going to slot plenty. He is nearly averaging two goals for every behind he’s kicked over his career, which is very tidy. We need someone to teach the same technique to our players.

He’s such an asset, he didn’t have a particularly big night but he setup so many scores from his ruck/body work and that goal from the pocket was just class, reminded me of how Browny slotted those crucial goals deep in the pocket in 01/02 GF’s when we were under the pump. We are the top team in AFL for converting inside 50’s to shots (Cats are second) we just need to convert more of those to goals!

Being able to kick goals at crucial times is just so important. Hawkins slotted that unreal goal against us in the second quarter which totally shifted the momentum. We're showing we can defend in crutch moments, just been to be able to convert them goals when the pressure is on.

But he did miss that crucial point which led to us winning the miracle on grass ;)

Quite a substantial drop off statistically by Mitch. Also averaging just 8.8 pressure acts a game, down from 15.5 a game last year.

Less game time in 2020 by 20%, this makes a big difference, especially late in quarters. Condensed schedule doesnt work in the favor of older players either. You will see this across the board in the AFL for +30 year okds, this is not a great comparison.
Mitch is OK, I do think the Lions should have rested some players more.

Had a look at the remaining games and not only do Cats and Tigers play each other they both have a bye (so no 4 points).
Lions have very winnable games, Collingwood with lots of outs at the GABBA, Suns at the GABBA, Swans and Blues. Port have slightly more difficult games but with a few at Adelaide will probably finish 1st.
Lions finish 2nd, which means we play the 3rd team likely Geelong IF they beat Richmond (in round 17). However, If Richmond beat Geelong, Lions likely to play Richmond (2 v 3) at the GABBA
Lions finish 1st, which means we play the 4th team likely West Coast at the GABBA this is the best option.

It is possible IF Geelong beat Richmond in round 17, Richmond finish 5th with Eagles 4th, that would be a great result because our record against Richmond is poor

So if we lost the first final, and Richmond won their first elimination final, we would play Richmond in the second round of finals, just like last year, yeah?
