Are you thinking we should have grabbed somebody like Hammelmann instead of Mitch Cox?
The acquisition of Mitch Cox was one I couldn't work out at the time, we have plenty of his type on our list, would of much preferred a tall and IMO Hammelmann would have been a good option.

In saying that I hope I'm wrong and Cox stands up when/if needed and has a good career with us.

If Hammer was really any good he'd be on a list right now. I was a fan but ultimately AFL footy is not for him.

Fullarton has never impressed me in any of the games he has played.

Paine has done OK in a couple of games, down back however.

I vote Paine.
I reckon our old Jackson Paine would probably be a much more better option in this situation than our current key defender in Jack Payne :moustache:

Yeo out as well.

Any other ex Lion in their list? Few more days to get on the HS list (I jest.. :p hope witherden and yeo are okay)

To replace Joe for the WCE game leaves us without that extra tall forward. West Coast looks as though they will be heavily depleted. Just a thought - why not bring Payne in which will give some flexibility to the team where he can play forward or he can be moved to the backline where Adams or Andrews can move forward. After our performance against Sydney, we should win comfortably, but if this experiment happens to come off, it gives a positive move going forward. Some moves work others don't, but who knows? On the other hand, we all look forward to Hipwood's return.

I agree, Payne in. I reckon we've marked full creams card a bit like Matho.

Speaking of the seconds, we seem to have a good number of players ready to make the step up.

My take on the last couple of games.

Deadset ready to play AFL:
Cocky, Terry, Paine, Dev, Sharpie, Wilmot, Lester(of course), Ashcroft.

Almost ready:
Kalin Lane(he's going to be a gun), Carter Michael, Harrison Arnold,

Surprises:
Buzza in the ruck(really good), Tunstill, Ely Smith has been going pretty good. Henry Smith going ok.

Yeah, nah:
Full cream, Matho,

I understand and appreciate your thought process. It is something I wouldn't be doing. The defense is just starting to find form and cohesion, there is no need to disrupt that in any way. It's also a bit of a kick in the teeth to the fwds we have if we are going to start manipulating backs into fwds. Give Fullerton a shot playing entirely as a fwd. If he goes OK, good. If not I'd rather try a smaller fwd set up. That's the experiment I think would pay greater dividends in the future. Experimenting with a back going fwd is really just more of the same structure, but with a player without fwd nous. Experimenting with a smaller fwd set up, with Rayner n Cockatoo playing a smaller 3rd tall and rotating thru the midfield for example, really offers something different. Something other teams wouldn't be expecting. It gives us or makes us play to another game plan, another style of play. I'd rather that arrow in our quiver than more of the same.

Try Fullerton first, or even H Smith to see what he's got. But let's think out of the box and try a different structure n game style. The ability to play smaller successfully when injuries do happen makes us a more rounded, complete and dangerous team.
