Based off the little impact Croft has had so far in the VFL, I’d have to agree that he is unlikely.

Which probably opens the door for a Buss debut. Fingers crossed, it’s finally time.

Other option is we go smaller, in which case I could see Jaques debuting.

Mentioned in the other thread but i'm (for the first time since he moved back), in the shift Lobb fwd camp. Not only our best available forward on the list, but our best 2nd ruck by far too which he can't really do playing CHB.

Hand Buss a debut and go, Buss - Jones and JOD as the backs, Naughton - Lobb - Khamis as the forwards. Once Harmes and VDM are back I wouldn't be against just going with Lobb and Naughty forward and having a bunch of runners + Bont or Kennedy as the 3rd tall resting forward.

In - Buss
Out - Darcy

If Harms or VDM are ready, then back in for Hynes at this stage.

Bramble is a chance to get a week too
Higgins played for that and threw himself to the ground to get the free, but not that that matters much in the eyes of the MRP. Luckily though his arms weren't pinned and I don't believe his head hit the ground so should be ok.

I'm inclined to give Hynes another run, he was better than last week.

Throw Lobb forward and play him relief ruck. As Bevo said, relief ruck from the defensive half doesn't work.

Out: Darcy, Hynes (Bramble?)
in: Smith, Poulter
The selection of Smith could be a masterstroke. He will provide the 2nd ruck which means Lobb stays back. He is a competitive beast and will bring the ball to ground even if he doesn't mark it. He's pretty quick for a big guy and often operates as his own midfielder in the twos. Nothing to lose trialling him but quite possibly a lot to gain.

Does he have any forward craft though? Strikes me as a number 1 ruck only rather than a ruck forward

He has played very limited minutes forward at VFL level. If Smith is brought in (which is my preference) I'd say he'd contribute as much or more than Buku does forward whilst being more competent in the ruck.
I'd be looking at Smith playing 40% ruck 30% forward, English 60% ruck 30% forward.
