I really doubt the boys have been drinking any bathwater. We seemed pretty focused after the dogs game, no over celebrating etc. Who cares about the rag I doubt the boys give a shit about that crappy newspaper, and if Gold Coast need that to fire them up for a final well they are already in trouble.

Conspiracy cuts both ways though. You could also say: With a Perth NRL team announced and the reports of DAZN being unhappy with the Foxtel AFL deal they'll want a strong viewership in the WA demographic as well. And with their go to WA guys at historically inept levels, it's time to revert to the B squad for as long as possible this finals series. If you were a conspiracy theorist it actually makes far more logical sense for the AFL to want Fremantle through next week than Gold Coast. If you were to think along those lines that is.

Or, and hear me out here, Umpiring is inconsistent and we all have a negativity bias in how we perceive things depending on how much we want to believe them.

Edit: And I'm fully aware I'm one of those. Sometimes I just need to cope during a game like many people. I have some self awareness of this (though could be better). But I also think that once the dust settles so do the irrational thoughts......mostly.....

So when our brains see terrible umpiring, even if it isn't, it's easier to think someone is against us.

Add in the 1% of the time when conspiracies are true, and that just encourages us to think it's happening here too.

The AFL absolutely do not help this by employing wildly inconsistent standards to just about everything across the board, nepotistic boys club hires, constant unnecessary rule changes and good old fashioned making stuff up on the fly. Essentially just a cacophony of Hanlon's Razor.

The real conspiracy is: Have they fallen arse backwards into a profitable ragebait news and discussion cycle by quietly allowing this and not promoting more transparency or are they just that inept on all lines that they keep stepping on rakes ala Sideshow Bob?

I would find that truly bizarre that someone would purchase tickets to a final and then not turn up.

It's probably going to be wet but the worst of the weather looks to be passing Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. There is a chance it could have cleared up at least a bit by game time. Unfortunately though, we will be in the pool of cold air behind the cold front and there will be the odd shower.

It's not bizarre if you buy the tickets, but not rock up if you are sick or ill.
