You can never be confident in the forecast until the increments go to 3 hourly which, for Sat, will be on Thursday. Until then. Watch some replays.

Nah doom updating the forecast then melting if it gets worse is one of my favourite pastimes

2013 side made a grand final that will always be the benchmark until this group does it.

That core group won finals interstate 2 x years in a row against Geelong.
This side doesn't feel like it's there yet, but it also feels a lot younger - not an excuse, just a reason to hope they can continue on.

Interesting perspective /attitude to take the boys to the Maritime museum... Could be a master stroke by the coaching staff... Comparing Americas cup being down and winning 4 to 3...

Who are the dockers best taggers ? Wagner was one but he is gone. Coming into the finals we need genuine good tagging jobs to progress deep. Starting this weekend. Does Johnson have what it takes to lock down a gun sun mid ? Every opposition knows to tag our guys. We must do the same

Well, see I’m a bit wary about all this. Last time the boys were exposed to OCCASION in 50point bold caps v Lions here, they played their worst game in aeons. Still shuddering about it.

I’ve even wondered if JL should leave Fyfey out of the equation this time to avoid replicating the last woeful scenario.

Our boys are wonderfully spirited and capable of turning on a sizzling game. They are not as battle-hardened yet as many. I hope for their sakes - cos they must have felt they were trapped in a living nightmare last time - that whatever the recipe for this buildup does the trick.

CARN FREEOOO!!!

nervy for this reason too. every pundit has us winning this; it's the kiss of death.

but the Suns ain't the Lions, that's a fact. be foolish to underestimate them, but we got it done on their deck, in shite weather, too.

composure gets us through this. let's see if we've got it.

The lions game was the finishing. We were in it but wasted a lot of chances in front of goal and it compounded in the last so we got blown away when it turned into a shoot out.

They fixed it up straight away against the Dogs so I feel like it was a loss we needed to have to reset the focus. Just need to maintain it for 4 more in a row now.

This is gonna seem like a pedantic correction, but because we're talking about replacing Wagner's influence:

Most teams don't tag. There were probably a handful of actual taggers in the AFL this season - and Wagner was one of them. Jordon, Bedford, Mullin, Windhager. Drew and Maginness used to do it in the past. But in terms of the old-school meaning of tagging, it's fairly seldom and we probably won't do one with the options available. Maybe as a magnet switch for a quarter or a half if a player's really getting hold. But most coaches seem to view tagging over a full game as almost conceding defeat.

Now if we're talking about nullifying tactics more broadly (stoppage matchups, handovers when a player rotates fwd, etc), teams do that a lot more. We'll probably do that, and it'll likely be an "inside winger" that gets that sort of job. JOM, Johnno, Ras, NOD, all of them have done that sort of job to varying degrees of success. JOM probably has the most numbers on the board in that aspect, so probably him. But that might change if it's a bad physical matchup for JOM.

Weather update. Windy has the system coming through even earlier on the Friday. Looks quite likely conditions will be good by game time despite some showers Saturday morning. It may be chilly with a light southerly wind though. Won't be anywhere near as bad as the Carlton game thankfully.

We need really need a 3rd major airline in Australia to keep the other 2 scummy ones in check, something in the Southwest/Ryanair mould.

It's flat out extortion charging $1700 to ****en Melbourne.
WAFC should buy a plane for eagles, dockers and lease it out to travelling teams when they can. Could have sports science oxygen mask fancy tech stuff and leg room for the big fellas.
