Henriques - 659 runs @ 65.90
Stoinis - 172 runs @ 15.63

Yet which one do they pick? #nswbias
Neither of them will/would have got picked for the last two tests anyway (at least I ****ing hope Stoinis doesn't get a game).

I was flabbergasted this morning when I saw Stoinis was the replacement. Does anyone know if Boof or any of the selectors owe Andrew McDonald a massive favour? Because Victoria's chances of winning the Shield just went up significantly.

Now surely he wasn't expecting Head to be picked to replace a medium pace all rounder? Surely even the SA fanbois could see there are already 2 spinning all rounders over there and they weren't going to pick another?

Lol at the idea that Head is an all-rounder anyway. His bowling is part-time standard at absolute best in the long form of the game at the moment.

What an absolute joke. Henriques finally has form to justify his selection and they turn their back on him for the latest big thing. Pathetic. White's comments on Shield performances being meaningless look real relevant right about now. I am disgusted.

Especially as the whole problem with the all-rounder / #6 spot has been the batting.

its just back up for injuries.

my guess is they didn't fly over Henriques because it would be a waste of his time.
Yeah but if they get injured you can fly him over then.

iTS A conspiracy against the Vics,
the more Vic players away from shield duties, gives NSW a better chance of winning:thumbsdown:
Given he's averaging 15 with the bat I doubt it's that.

Option 1 - batting deck:
1-5 as is
6 Wade
7 Starc
8-10 O'Keefe, Lyon, Hazlewood in whatever order
11 Swepson (gets the nod because Agar is left arm orthodox just like O'Keefe)

Option 2 - bowling deck:
1-2 as is
3 Khawaja
4-6 Marsh, Smith, Handscomb in whatever order
7-11 as is

Option 3 - CA compromise:
1-5 as is
6 Maxwell or Agar
7-11 as is

they wont change the Team, as series "still alive"

Khawaja will come in for Marsh, and will Bat somewhere in top 6"
when they loose this one ,maybe changes for last one

Where's the Stoinis batting at 3, opening the bowling and fielding first slip option?

Well I guess they wanted like for like and so it had to be Stoinis.

But in all seriousness what this says to me is that the person that is being sent over isn't expected to play. Will be Khawaja or Maxwell/Agar.

As for Smith's bowling, I hope he works on it in the long term but I wouldn't expect him to bowl in this series more than an over here or there. His main strength as a bowler is how much turn he gets and his main weakness is accuracy. On these pitches that is not at all what you want. He'd turn one a foot past the edge one ball and then bowl a 4 ball the next delivery.
