Quote from Hohns.
Let's study that shall we.
In ODIs he took 18 wickets from 10 matches. Economy rate of 5.24. Of those 18 wickets, just for 5 came before the 35th over despite bowling first change. 10 came after the 40th over and most were tail end batsman going for a slog trying to either reach an unreachable score or set a higher target.
In T20Is he took 2 wickets from 3 matches. Economy rate of 7.7 and only bowled his full compliment once.
In the BBL he took 7 wickets from 6 matches at an Economy rate of 9.31.
Looking at those stats... how is that a man who impressed? Granted he was consistent.. consistently poor.

Seen enough of him to say he'll be our best. Not worried about how many he's played. IMO only of course, I think he can be one of our great quicks. Of course injuries do concern me with him going to India but at 1-1, needing only one win to retain the BG Trophy, I can see why they are taking him.
I'm not against his selection at all, they might as well take him. We've paid the bloke for six years he might as well play and hopefully win us another Test, if he gets injured so be it. Strike bowler for strike bowler.
Also happy Patto isn't going, would like him available for the Ashes and he is a real worry injury wise - because he gets all sorts of injuries whereas Cummins just does his back (due to his bowling action).
He played a lot of short form cricket over the summer and pulled up okay.
I genuinely think he's the best option, but you'd hope the med staff would be doing their due diligence
Dorff's got marginally better body injury wise, but it's a pretty close callBehrendorff would have been a better option imo. Not that I'm against Pat playing, I just feel Behrenforff is a safer bet body wise, has better form and has the added bonus of creating patches of rough for Lyon which he needs.
Would be surprised if he didn't play ahead of Bird.
People must remember he's a rare talent and a different bowler to bird[/
Well 6 years.A rare talent that breaks down a lot and just played his first shield game in god knows how long.
The injury aspect does scare me as I think he can star in the Ashes. Being India he may not actually bowl a huge amount of overs as the spinners will do most of it. Even so, it might force me, if I was a selector, though to pick a 5th bowler just just case, Maxwell or Stoinis just in case. He'll probably though bowl alot more in the Ashes.
On the plus side we lose nothing in batting depth, not that that should be a real consideration when selecting bowlers, but it's good Cummins bats well for a tailender.
So if we're playing Cummins, does that mean Stoinis is more likely to play? Otherwise if Cummins injures himself during the game, we left with only Hazlewood to bowl seamers.
That'd be our luck..lol.I think whoever of Cummins and Patto went they are a monty to get injured
That'd be our luck..lol.

They need to make the WACA a fast bowler's paradise for the final Test (or the stadium if it's ready) and unleash Starc, Pattinson, Cummins and Hazlewood. It would be amazing to one day have all four of our gun quicks fit at the same time.
