That's how you get into the test side. You have one memorable innings and first chance you are in.

Be nice if the media just asked boof the right questions here for once and that is why did you pick marsh at 6 if smith wasn't going to bowl him? And why do we then need to bring in another allrounder at 6 if the skipper won't bowl him either?

of all the rubbish allrounder candidates floating around marsh still looked the most likely to take test wickets but if smith doesn't even rate him wtf are we picking them for?

Head would have contributed about the same as Marsh with the bat.

In all seriousness, most people would prefer Henriques but they either arent sure of his durability or its highly unlikely they will play so never pick a NSW player to carry the drinks

Would definitely like to see Henriques get the nod. Batted well last time he played in India, and has been in form with the bat all summer in all formats.

Considering he won't bowl much if at all, is he one of our best 6 batsmen?

Biggest concern over them picking marsh again with no batting form behind him is that it seems like his shoulder issues were known by the selectors, his role in the side was to apparently bowl a shitload of overs if a quick snapped in half yet they knew he was more likely to snap himself so it's just insane.

Stoinis.......just laughable really.

I thought Cartwright was a bs selection but he must have taken a shit in Smith's kit bag or something to be overtaken by Marsh and then Stoinis in the manner that he has.

There is just no logic that goes into these decisions.

7 matches, 172 runs @ 15.6 & 8 wickets @ 39.5. 3, 22, 13, 1 in the Shield since the ODIs. I guess he did hit a bunch of sixes in a one dayer, though.

Alternatives are Maxwell who's done nothing with bat or ball and Agar who's done OK with the ball but nothing with the bat. Or Khawaja who can't bowl or field or play spin.

I don't rate Henriques as highly as some (hi Junior) but he's made 659 runs at 65.9 and can roll the arm over. Had a good BBL also and performed well in the T20Is so has consistent form across varying forms of cricket over the last few months.

Henriques has been in and out with injury....I think after being bitten with Mitch Marsh, they didn't want to risk Moises breaking down as well, so picked someone fully fit.

That is a fair point. He has had a great season despite being injured in the middle of it, but I remember saying at the beginning of the summer that he needs a year or two injury free before being considered.

That said, I'm sure that wouldn't stop them selecting someone like Cummins if a fast bowling spot opened up.

It has got me and many others ****** why Faulkner does not get a consistent go. Has he pissed off Alan Border or something?

Ideally he'd be a good number 7 or 8, however his bowling isn't good enough to force a bowler out and our current keeping options average under/around 30, so shouldn't bat at 6. India is a different beast though and I think the pitches would suit him.
