I wouldn't mind that bench but who do you propose back up rucks for Jamar? Dunn can do the around the ground stuff but at the end of the day the big fella needs a chop out in the middle as well. That's why Newton has to play for mine. If Garland really is fit and firing, then we might have to drop Bate. Whilst a forward line consisting of Newton, Dunn, Sylvia, Petterd, Green, Bail and Bennell will be very short on pure goal kicking power, it should provide adequate forward pressure and run.

I see you're warming to the idea of Bennell up forward more regularly MB, apart from the attempt at a mark he didn't look lost at all in the forward 50.

He was originally a small forward before being drafted correct?

With Maric seemingly out of favour and Wonna on the come back from another hamstring injury I like Bennell’s pace once the ball hits the ground.

What are your thoughts on Jetta? I love his endeavour and attack on the ball. Late last year he played some ripping footy through the midfield/forward flank. I think it’s going to be tough for Jamie and Nev to both get a game in our best 22.

I actually quite like the team they have picked. We went with the big guys in round 1 vs the hawthorn flood and we all know how well that went. Picking a smaller more mobile team especially up forward shows we might try more of the run and carry game we played last week to break the lines.

Adelaide are one of the best at the zone style of play but aren't in the best form either although they are strengthened by some good inclusions this week. But then again so are we (Go Sylvia !!).

Will be interesting to see how the guys backup after the gutsy yet heart breaking loss last week.

Hopefully they took some confidence from mixing it with a side most tip to go deep into September.

I thought he was a half back/midfielder. Personally I still think he will be a defender, but he's got to tighten up a bit before we put him back there. He can't afford any more of those soft efforts, but he did do some good stuff up forward and I think the forward pressure is needed. I'd prefer it coming from Bate, Maric, Wona, LJ, Watts, Jetta or Tapscott, but if it has to be Bennell and Bail so be it.

I'd have the same bench as whelan=legend, but I reckon they'll give Garland one more week. Very happy Col is back, now for a repeat of last weeks effort and a win will be on the way :thumbsu: .

The team is finalised. One change: Strauss for Sylvia.

Go Dees!!!

B: Matthew Warnock, James Frawley, Jamie Bennell
HB: James McDonald, Joel Macdonald, Lynden Dunn
C: Rohan Bail, Jackson Trengove, Aaron Davey
HF: Brad Green, Colin Sylvia, Cameron Bruce
F: Tom Scully, Ricky Petterd, Clint Bartram
Foll: Mark Jamar, Jack Grimes, Brent Moloney
I/C: Jordie McKenzie, Nathan Jones, Matthew Bate
Emg: Colin Garland, Jake Spencer, Kyle Cheney

In: Sylvia
Out: James Strauss

One name missing on the bench and I assume it's supposed to be Newton, I like minimal changes but I was hoping to see Garland back in this week.

Although thank God that Spencer hasn't be picked.

I would really love to see Bater have a blinder. He adds real potency to our forward-line when he is up and running.

C'mon Master!!!

I would have like to have seen Garland back to give us more options for their forwards.

I think the odds of a late change are pretty good - with either Garland or Cheney in. Otherwise Bennell or Bail would have to go into the defensive rotation and play on someone pretty dangerous like Chris Knights.

We need an even contriubtion again just like last week, but either an exceptional or several very good performances will be needed up forward to kick a winning score.

Whilst I'm still quite confident of sticking with them, how good does Adelaide's team look on paper, particularly their forward line?

Not quite sure how they are 0-2.

Is Goodwin certain to play? I thought he was still under an injury cloud?

So as of posting this it is 10:17. According to twitter about an hour ago @ben_hovey asked @CamSchwab whether Garland was playing in the VFL. 33 minutes ago @Cam Schwab replied 'playing tomorrow'.

2 Colin's would be nice, but it seems at this stage we will atleast get 1 back.
