Hart was unlikely hero today [ many pundit predict Grimwade's talent] Good to see Blackwood hits 69 for westindies.but bit disappointed as Carlos out cheaply and WI lost 6 wickets for 43 vs Victoria

Boxing day test near corner with Usman Khawaja certain to play on boxing day test as well as sundays Big Bash.i wish oz not experiment Shaun open with warner.

Khawaja is more likely to open than Shaun Marsh if they go down that route.

Which they shouldn't

Siddle is better than JB because test match expierances is different ball game than Domestic shield games.
example Patterson is house-hold name in southafrica in domestic cricket this season with 42 wickets in 9 games.he is selected to play vs England for Saffers A game.i wish him good luck.

No way kHawaja should make way for smith to bat at number 3.if I have to select oz team, I would like to drops smith til T20I games vs india 'cause his running between wicket more looks to me 36 year old guy than 26 year Dynamo.

Khawaja should bat at 3 while smith and starc should take care of their foot or sort of injurey they been go through.even if smith bat at 4
oz may select
Burns-warner-Khawaja-Smith-Voges-Shaun-m.Marsh-Nevill,Patterson,Hazelwood-Lyon.
well tricky business in selection if oz wants 5 specialist bowler yet I would prefer specialist opener for any test team in the world instead make shift opener.

my Girl friend think oz should drops Burns and select either o'kefee or Coulter Nile [ who deserved selection prior to Sydney test]

indian cricket board in usa, suggest to drops Mitchell Marsh for addional specialist spinner for MCG only.[ besides Lyon ]

well I suppose to not say koz
RF reaper only.
but anyway, shaun marsh as opener will be not good idea.he was failure in ODI for oz.single digit guy.

What exactly do you have against Shaun Marsh out of interest?

Nothing. I've defended his selection here a lot. Even for the Adelaide test.

I just think that logically speaking we need to invest in Burns. After losing in the Ashes the way we did we need to try and find new players who can cope. Nothing has happened since the start of the summer to suggest that we should change from our selected two in Burns and Khawaja just yet.

If Marsh had been selected instead of Khawaja and we swapped their two performances and injuries for the season around I'd be saying that it should be Khawaja who should be dropped.
In fact I thought Khawaja shouldn't have been picked at the start of the summer anyway

Shaun Marsh was a very successful ODI opener.

I have to disagree with the "Nothing has happened since the start of the summer to suggest that we should change " line that you've been using on this subject.

Burns has shown some worrying technical deficiencies, likely to be further exposed on seaming decks if he is persisted with, whilst S.Marsh has shown increased surety in a middle order role.

Bearing this in mind, if Khawaja is a walk up start (which apparently he is,)he is comfortable opening (which he has stated he is) and he perfectly compliments Warner (he does) the logical decision is to plug him in for Burns at the top of the order.

And then move Burns to the middle order which is where he should have always been selected given those technical deficiencies have been visible for years

If we're willing for Khawaja to open the batting then we should stop trying to make Burns into an opener and given him an opportunity in the middle order.

His time will likely come when Voges calls it quits or has a drop off in form i'd imagine. The move can't be justified presently

If Kahawaja opens, Burns goes, not Marsh. Burns will get another chance, but Marsh has definitely seemed more assured in the past two Tests than Burns. And it's not like he's into the twilight of his career; if Marsh continues his good form, he could easily play three to four years.

I agree with Reaper. Selectors need to give players a bit of time to find their feet at the top level. This two poor tests and your out stuff gets no-one anywhere. And fast.

Marsh fell victim to it last time he was dropped, would be stiff to miss out for Boxing Day.
