If he is fit I believe him. Hasn't really shown otherwise in his career. I'd rather him in the side rather than throw things at the TV with Burns so called 'technique'

At this point I'll remind everyone that earlier this year you could get LPN1's posts and the only difference from now is that you would input Shaun Marsh for Burns and Burns was the guy he was advocating to be selected

This should make CA's life easier. Use the diagnosis to say he's not fit enough for Boxing Day and go in unchanged, rest Smith for the third Test and bring Khawaja in, and by then, they should be able to make a decision on Burns/Marsh.

I would have preferred Bancroft actually and still do. Still would prefer Handscomb than Marsh but I'm content with not rushing Handscomb

I quoted stats to show that stats can prove anything you want.
Look, we get that you think Shaun Marsh isn't up to it. I didn't think he should have been picked for Adelaide either, but he batted well in the second innings there and got a big hundred in Hobart and that has to carry more weight than anything he did in The Ashes, or in 2013 or 2011 or whenever.

Burns certainly has a few technical issues and would be better suited to the middle order but they are getting over exaggerated IMO. Firstly I'd like to know why the selectors in both QLD and Australia think he is an opener. Does he like opening? I've heard he gets very nervous waiting to bat but so do a lot of people.

In the middle order. He isn't and never will be a test opener.
He'd bring his missus and kid out to the toss with him I reckon.

You can use (or manipulate) stats to prove all sorts of things if you want. The stat you quoted did nothing of the sort.
I don't think Shaun Marsh is up to it, and there's a very compelling reason for that. Some stats are easily dismissed/not relevant right now. I don't think the stat I was referring to is in that category- it's impossible to understate how bad that record is.
Nothing wrong with that, it'll be great to see Davey firing back at journos who criticise his captaincy on twitter during the match.

I have never wanted Burns opening. His technique reminds me of a genuine number 4-6. He doesn't have the tight technique needed at the top of the order. That said can he make it as a number 5- yes. That is his position in my view.
