Boland takes 7 fa in one innings, 6 in the other 5. Yeah... what a consistent performer. More like one innings out of almost statistical anomaly.

Please explain the Paris one for me. Am I not mistaken he's only recently made his Shield debut? Not convinced on Bird personally. Actually surprised they didn't go Paris
Why stop thereNow for Hazelwood to break down and Australia to finally have their strongest pace attack in a very long time![]()

Forecasting a bit of rain on the first morning. Looks like being a late start for sure.
our selectors ruined Marsh's test career by constantly dropping him, they can't possibly be considering doing that to Burns so Marsh can replace him!
don't know the Melbourne weather, if rain is forecast, it will be nice and sunnyForecasting a bit of rain on the first morning. Looks like being a late start for sure.
Quite possibly lol, but we're supposed to get storms late Xmas Day, early Boxing Day.don't know the Melbourne weather, if rain is forecast, it will be nice and sunny[emoji14]
Injuries and an inability to hit big scores. What's happened with Tim Paine?
Wasn't he meant to be a certainty a few years ago before injury struck? If he is injury free now, why is he so far from being mentioned for the test team?
Not like Australia to prematurely anoint someone.....Injuries and an inability to hit big scores.

Tasmania dropped Paine from their Sheffield Shield side, so that might have something to do with him not being mentioned in relation to the Australian Test Team. What's happened with Tim Paine?

BOM is currently saying there is a 90% chance of rain on Saturday. Of course, they could revise their forecast, but it's not looking good.
On the plus side, plenty of rain will help the Windies make it to the third day![]()
That and the fact the only position he is up for is not up for grabs.Injuries and an inability to hit big scores.

Give us a spell. Bolands been a consistent shield bowler for the last 2 years im all for giving him a crack and seeing what he can do. Especially against this pathetic so called competition we are up againstThis is becoming a scandal. Did Jackson Bird kill Rod Marsh's cat with an axe? Did he run over his kid?
The treatment of Bird is becoming a scandal. Boland is barely Sheffield Shield level, and bowling 1 ball at 140km/h on Sunday night doesn't meet their supposed criteria.
From what I have seen I was thinking that Boland was capable of hitting the low 140s consistently in the Shield - you've seen more of him than myself, so fair enough if I'm wrong on that assumption.
I do want Bird in the Test side and I am confused by his being overlooked consistently this summer.
He's had big wraps on him for a while, but yes he has only played 2 FC games. He is averaging 22, so at least could be said to be on a hot streak. I wouldn't pick him yet but can understand why people would not be surprised if was picked. Cummins and Warner (and Healy going back nearly 30 years) were picked off about the same amount of Shield games. Please explain the Paris one for me. Who should come in then? Bird?So we're just handing out baggy greens now to bowlers who don't meet the selectors own criteria to "give them a crack" against poor opposition?
As I stated previously, he has a pretty ordinary 13 wickets in the Shield so far this season; when you consider that 7 of those came in one innings, he's otherwise been shithouse.
Take your Victorian blinkers off for 5 minutes - Boland is not good enough to play for Australia.
