Outs pretty much as we predicted. Warnock named in case Col G doesn't come up? Good to see strauss named, would be surprised if he got a run though. Wona straight in.

marics been on our list for over 5yrs, hes got nothing to offer, i cant believe fans were pumping his tyres after 1 decent preseason, aussies got his spot covered.

He's just started his 4th season on the list and just like Watts and Blease was actually at school during his first, but anyway feel free to stick to your story.

His first 2 seasons were fine considering the injury interruptions. He was rubbish last year, not fit enough and didn't perform consistently enough at VFL level.

This year he's shown a good attitude in preseason and I wouldn't write him off completely yet.

My changes would be:

In: Gysberts, Wonaeamiri, Strauss
Out: Jetta, Maric, Jones

The first 2 have already happened. Whilst I'd probably have gone for Macdonald I think it's reasonable to bring Strauss in and get him to play some half back to free up Grimes and possibly Tapscott to get up the ground. Jones playing wing and half back just doesn't achieve anything in my book. If the fitness isn't there I'd go Wona as sub, otherwise I'd consider Bennell.

Agreed with thats happened so far, its a shame Maric couldnt get one more (non sub) game to prove himself, im sure he will later in the year.

Under normal circumstances would like Morton over Jones however I think he need a good slog out for Casey, look how rusty Frawley was last week. Hopefully he plays well for Casey and takes his spot the week after for the GC games

Hope Grimes plays midfield and stays there.

His foot skills wont hut us as much there as they do on the last line of defence, and he will be an animal at the clearances.

so pumped to see Gysberts back... kid is going to be special.

Both guys are stating 18 players now and for the future.

Morton as sub would be perfect, and I hope Jones is dropped.

Ideally, you would drop Jones, but I think Morton might need a bit of VFL time to get back up to speed, even if he would act as the perfect substitute.

Would like to see Jones for Strauss as the last change. I know he's done sweet FA so far, but I'd pick him with an eye for the future.

We need elite kicks. We drafted him as such and need to find out if he can make it. Something you will never know if he stays at Casey. Great time to bring him up and see what he can do.

Hopefully we can free him up a bit and not get him dragged back deep where teams like the Hawks have exposed him. Like to see him with the ball 25-75m out setting up defensive rebounds.

Good call on Bennell, but only if DB plans to play him forward. I still think he's much more effective in the backline (is in the game more, doesn't flash in and out), but if he's fwd he should be the sub.

Having him run around against an opposition thats played a 1/2 or 3/4 of a game, he could light up the G in a short space of time.

Plus I'm not confident that he can run out full games of AFL football.

Can't believe Bailey dropped Maric. I just don't understand, the ball never went up forward. Where as Jones and co couldn't get a clearance to save their lives.

IMO Jones is the perfect sub. Given his distinct lack of pace, to have him come on midway through the 3rd qtr when the pace is well and truly out of the game he could dominate. Imagine Nathan Jones with “pace”!

I'd play Wonna run him for as long as he can go then sub him out for Jones.

All I can say at this point in time is Gysberts! Thank God.

Hmm. Possibly wasn't going to be able to make this game, but the 2 definite ins + possibly Morton + possibly no Jones + possibly Grimes playing midfield all day... i cant miss that!

Wonna will be the sub I reckon, and I like it.

Jones won't be dropped but he'd damn well better be on notice.

On the 'Grimes to the centre' move, I agree that he could have a big impact there, but we lose a lot from our backline without him. It remains to be seen if the gain in the middle outweighs the loss down back. I personally don't think Bailey has the minerals to do it, we'll see.

Edit: Can't wait to see Gysberts!!!!!!!!!

Cant believe how maric got dropped after 1 bad game and one average game where he was a sub and literally had no opportunity at all. Jones however gets game after game and his spot never seems to be in question despite his poor disposal and the fact that we got smashed in clearances last week (an area he is supposed to be strong at!)
