Changes for Bulldogs

Out: O'Bree, Anthony, Wood

In: Medhurst, Davis, Barham

Give jolly a go at being the only ruck like what he is best at. Has had an average season and would suit the role better and accept the challenge that comes with it.

What we need is more pace..

Give Johnson a go.. He might have had a shocker but has had a whole bunch of great games this year. Dawes and Cloke couldn't do much really. Our forward line didn't function cause delivery in there was just bomb after bomb and we had no crumbers at the base.

OUT: O'Bree, Anthony
IN: Medhurst, Rounds

Those are the changes I'd like to see.

Rounds has been in great form this year and probably would of had a call up if not for his shoulder injury.

Gives us pace and defensive pressure in the forward 50 which was sorely lacking most the year imo.

Johnson is the other long term i'd like to see out his kicking will not stand up in finals pressure.

OUT:
Obree - he HAS to go. He simply cannot be carried any more. I don't give a shit about his experience, it's beyond a joke now. Turnover specialist, too slow, shocking decision-maker. GONE.

Wood - Too slow, not "hungry" enough, poor decision-maker.

Anthony - I like him, but the 3-tall forward line isn't working with his horrendous delivery. And his record against the Dogs is terrible.

IN:
L.Brown - Has been playing well in the 2's, provides an option up forward, actually gives a shit and provides a physical tackling presence. Can back-up ruck.

Medhurst - We miss him so much it's crazy. He makes our forward line dangerous, we look horrible without him. Please be ready.

Barham - Yes, he is a turnover merchant too. But his adds serious pace, he is a tackling menace, and can play as a tagger. Has been demanding selection with his form too.

___

I think Reid is better suited to the Dogs, so Nate should stay in the 2's... even though he should have played last night.

The only OUT that is a certainty for mine has to be O'Bree. He is playing as a permanent HFF now so with that in mind, I would replace him with a forward in Davis in straight swap- not for say a Barham who is just another mid. We have plenty of mids at the moment.

Also, considering we have alot of mids playing forward, it doesn't do our forward structure the world of good as of late. We need to play genuine forwards in the forward line. This is why I would keep all of Jack-Cloke-Dawes in the team vs the dogs. Medhurst should come in and replace Macaffer for mine as Medders can play the outlet role and "score assist" game incredibly well as well as contributing goals himself.

The forward line should look like this vs the Dogs and for the remainder of the season (barring injury and serious form slumps):

HF: Didak-Cloke-Davis
FF: Medhurst-Anthony-Dawes.

In fact Dawes has a huge tank and can swap with Davis and play a little further up the ground but TWO ley forwards need to stay within goal kicking range at all times!!

We can also then rotate a Sidebottom/Beams/Thomas at times with Didak/Davis to have spells up the ground but their best work is done around HF so that is why I would play them and start them there for the majority of it.

Wood survives because Josh is injured and Leroy Brown as second ruck gives me nightmares and as a forward he is shithouse. People say he is tough and physical but he hasn't kicked a single goal in the seniors all season when he has played. That kind of output doesn't warrant selection over our other key talls who at least can make the most of limited opportunities.

OUT: O'Bree, Macaffer.

IN: Davis, Medhurst.

That to me looks like very good team balance because both of the outs have been playing HF of late.

Last night i looked through the team and i found 3 changes that need to be made. Out Obree Macaffer and Anthony In Davis,Barham and Medhurst. We need pace against the dogs and Medhurst played really well against em last time so he is a must for this week.

Medhurst in for Anthony and O'Bree out for Davis perhaps.

This is on the presumption that Davis was injured last week, otherwise stick him in the VFL to find some form and someone like Barham can come in.

LOL at the massive over reactions Reid was bad tonight but played in the wrong spot Presti should of been taking whoever was deep and Reid should of took whoever was playing high give him another chance. As for BJ his played two bad games for the season give him a break. Macaffer and Toovey were very good but faded away early like a lot of players tonight stay positive guys Lions had a lot more motivation tonight then us and showed as they played with a lot more desperation. big test next week hopefully we respond.

IN: Barham Medhurst??/Dick??/Lockyer
OUT: Obree Anthony

Out:REID:eek:, O'Bree, Anthony, Wood
In: L.Brown, Barham, Medhurst (if fit), Goldsack, Lockyer

Regarding Reid, he will never make it at AFL level, doesn't have the head for it. In fact his inclusion has unsettle our back-line. Ever since he has been in Maxwell hasn't played as well and both Shaw and Harry, haven't been up to their normal standard. I watch my football very carefully and recall the one game where he just didn't know where to go and was often without an opponent and the others were covering for him. Shaw gave him a mouthful and so has Maxwell.

Rounds has polish. You can see it in the VFL, I just hope it translates to the AFL. He gets the ball inside 50 and just slots it. In fact he can kick them on the run from outside 50m, which could be very handy when the opposition is flooding their arses off. I agree he could also add plenty to our "frontal pressure" with his elite speed and endurance.

Looks like the popular ins are barham medhurst and davis and obree to be omitted. I doubt Mick will do these changes on thursday he will probs do something stupid like rest presti again and keep Obree in the side. to beat the dogs we must make changes to the team that played Brisbane. We lose to the Dogs then the we shoudl expect to be called pretenders.

Watching football very carefully and having a clue about the game are sometimes mutually exclusive. Reid is the reason why Maxwell, Shaw and Harry haven't been playing as well???

So you saw a game, presumably not this week, where Maxwell and Shaw yelled at him? Must be the first time either of them have yelled at anyone. Who could believe that a bloke playing his first few games in the magpie defence would occasionally get lost?

My prediction - Ben Reid, if uninjured, will play at least 200 games and will be one of the best backmen in the competition.

OUT:
Jack Anthony(no balls. goes to ground to easily. no defensive pressure)
Obree

IN:
Medhurst/Davis/Dick(either one to keep the ball inside 50)
Leigh Brown(defend/ruck/forward. Plus he has a crack)

OUT: Anthony, O'Bree, Macaffer

IN: Medhurst, Lockyer, Rounds (new)

Would freshen up the side alot, IMO :)

Out- OBREE,TOOVEY, WOOD

Ins- Dick,lockyer and leigh brown.

Collingwood chase Dangerfield,Boak at least get one of them next year.

I think all you people have missed an obvious out for this week - and the rest of the year I believe.

Travis Cloke.

Fair dinkum, this bloke should be ripping games apart and blokes like Maguire. Take a look at Podsiadly, Franklin, Josh Kennedy (WC) and even Brad Green for god's sake! All great marks on a lead and in contested situations inside their team's forward 50m.

Cloke - no good. Let him go to the GC.

Also, people bagging Ben Reid ... Matty Scarlett took 4 years to play more than 30 games and look at him now. I hear Stephen Wells (GFC recruiting officer) thinks Reid can be a top defender. As for Nathan Brown, that's another story all together ....

IMO i cant believe no one has include Luke Ball for a go in the VFL.. his turn overs cost us heaps saturday night, yes cheesy also did alot of turn overs, but since everyone is getting stuck into cheesy, how bout ya all open ur eyes and have a look at balls game!
