Changes for Carlton

I think Neagle should get a game, because we need to exploit Bower's complete lack of defensive ability
im worried about this because Bower was great on the rebound against the saints. on plenty of occasions he ran it out and gave them good pushes forward.
so i think it would be Neagle's poor defensive ability that would be highlighted here as i dont think he could keep up with him leaving our forward 50

WTF to anybody calling for Lonergan to be shown the door this week, were you all watching a different game to me on Friday night? Lonergan's last three games have been his best for the year, on Friday night he played Jetta's role better than Jetta has played it in '09, yet there are a few who think Sammy should make way for Jetta!! Please can somebody give me a really good reason why Jetta should be included?

Lets just recap on Jetta's marvelous 2009 season, he has played 5 games as a small forward, he has kicked ONE goal, has THREE goal assists and is averaging 2.6 tackles per game. I would guess that his KPI's would be based around those three stats which he is failing in two of and only just getting a pass mark in the third.

I'm sorry to get on a rant but I am yet to see anything in Jetta(particularly in '09) that gets me overly excited.

onto the thread, Spike out (sus.) Nat-Rad in. No other changes other than forced due to any injuries.

It's not about hitouts. It's about giving Ryder a chance to rest during games so he doesn't burnout.
I agree, I think we need to keep some hight in the team to help Ryds out with the ruck. We dont want that champion to get burnt out. He is playing well, but I think it is taking a toll.

Neagle - wont be back for a while as he was just ommited and Bendigo play after the Bombers do. Needs to display consitant form & get at least 10 touches or 3+ goals at Bendigo before he can push for selection again.

Bendigo Bombers are a really hard place for a key forward to get some form and confidence back ATM. Saying that his work rate is too inconsistent so he needs to go back and show that he is ready to compete even when the footy is in the oppositions hands, so he is going to get plenty of opportunities to do that!

How about NO CHANGES.

If Spike gets rubbed out.

Bring in NLM as he was sensational. Ironing out Kayne Pettifer should be rewarded.....

If Mcveigh is suspended, then he is pretty unlucky.

Yes it was stupied but he barely makes contact. There has been much worse incidents where players have got off.

i would go with
in.nlm,houli
out.skippy,either dyson or hocking

houli to get fast eddie(the only carlton bloke apart from judd that i rate)
nlm gives us a 3rd tall option up forward (seeing they won't play neagle)

the outs are unlucky but with welsh, pris, reimers all coming back over the last 2 weeks we have plenty of midfielders.

Out: Dyson, Hocking
In: Houli, Zaharakis

I would love to also add neagle, slattery and hurley but it is too hard to choose three more outs. Isn't it great to have soome selection pressure!!:D

right now lucas is giving us more than lloydy ... which is rather concerning

ps: and we're not dropping reimers... i wont bother rocking up if he's not playing. most exciting youngster we've got ... just as much as davey.

Lucas is giving us more on the stats sheet, for actual value to the side Lloydy's well ahead.

Lloyd's been the one creating contests Inside 50 which have brought the smaller players into the game, Lucas has been getting kicks working up the wing.

Did you just say that because they are your least fav players?

OUT: McVeigh
IN: Houli or Lovett-Murray

Houli is a good in to play on Eddie Betts but Lovett-Murray provides a more physical game that is important in big games such as this.

I would favour Houli just a bit more just because I think he is a great matchup on Betts.
Who else could play on Betts? Reimers? Dempsey? If there is someone else suitable that's already in the team, then Lovett-Murray comes in instead of Houli.

In: Jetta, Lovett - Murray
Out: Skipworth, Mcveigh:mad:

NLM was in very good form before his stupid mistake and he will be very keen to atone for it. Jetta for Skipworth is just to add a bit of dash. We can hurt Carlton for pace and we need to play to our strengths.

IN: Jetta, Slattery or NLM
OUT: Skipworth and McVeigh

Jetta will fill the small forward role that Skipworth will leave, Slattery or NLM will fill the Forward/Defensive role that McVeigh entails, depending on our needs and wants.

Why do people want to drop Skipworth?
I'm not a fan but you can't fault his recent form and deserves to keep his spot. At this stage, I'm happy for Skipworth to play in front of Jetta.

Just the one change - Out: McVeigh
In: Nat Rat

Maybe becuase Skipworth for a mature recruit has done nothing..a game against Melbourne does not count! I am sure Keplar Bradley would look half less unco against them!

Disagree. Much to my surprise Skipworth has been good value in the games he has played. 7 goals in 7 games is a resonable return for the role he plays.

What a load of tosh.

Credit where credits due. Skippy has been solid.
