I'm not sure we'll be coming 4th. I'd say there's more of a chance we play the Hawks at the G
Either way I want us to play the football of the previous few months take some risks and beat Freo we can beat them. We were not that far of the hawks just needed some more polish which cost us win very similar to the North Game we had the chances and did not take them.

It'd be tough on Lycett to make way for Sinclair, if both NN and him are right to resume. I think that Lycett is probably better suited to pair up with Nicnat take on Sandilands (although they both got smashed earlier this year). But I like the versatility of Sinclair around the ground, particularly that he's able to float back into defense and has recently been able to take a grab.

Honestly didn't think much of Lycett's possessions against Hawthorn, fumbly and didn't seem to think too much before trying to get rid of it. But his effort was great all game, hopefully if he has to go back to WAFL he can start dominating up forward too.

Sinclair just suffered some bone cruising and with the wet weather they thought it would be best to leave him out.

Changes for me:

Out: Mcgovern, Lecra, Mcginity, Hutchings
In: Barrass, Sinclair, Hill, Nelson
I tought hutchings was good 19 touches, 12 contested kicked a crucial goal. Better than Selwood

I'm not sure when we'd play Freo. I'd say the 2 most likely scenarios are we finish 3rd after beating the Bulldogs and play the Hawks at the G or we finish 5th/6th after losing to the Bulldogs and play in an elimination final at home.

Agreed, Lycett is not match fit either so he has to go back. Sinclair and Nic Nat have come a long ways since we got schooled by Fremantle. They are a different proposition this time.

Not match fit? he got to over 200 contests against Hawthorn. I think that's enough to say he is match it.

Ok didn't realise that then Nic Nat is a definite started if he is ready to go. Sinclair was in good form takes contested marks all over the ground has decent ruck work so I would still put him ahead of Lycett. Lycett was very good against the Hawks mind you

I agree. Sinclair is the better forward/ruck whilst Lycett is the better full time ruck. Even if Sinclair wasn't a late out on the weekend, he would have been backing up Lycett.

I wonder if Lycett regrets his decision to re-sign. He looks to be someone who will thrive at being the number 1 ruck but is struggling to adapt to being a forward/ruck.

Agreed, if Nic Nat is not ready then Lycett to be main Ruck with Sinclair as the forward/ruck. Sinclair has a bit of mongrel about him too, I want him too put in a bone crunching tackle on Johnson or Silvangi or any of that purple mob and really rag doll them

Why? He has been injured most of the season so its been hard for him to break into the side. I thought he was great on the weekend and has been building at EP. He is still a work in progress. We are pretty lucky to have 3 good tall men.

Out medical staff, in BF posters.

We could have told them Gov wasn't right to go.

Out match committee, in BF posters.

We could have told them not to listen to the medical staff and that Gov rotating back to ruck and back again was a dumb idea.
I think it was putting him in the ruck as well as CHB that killed him. Huge load for anybody, especially someone just coming back from injury and who is not the fittest bloke at the best of times.

Because he looks ideally suited to being the number 1 ruck and whilst NN is around he won't be used in that role. Great for WC though I agree.

I thought Lycett played okay given where he was coming from and what he had to contend with.

Edit: geez. 20 disposals, 7 tackles, can't see his Ho. Can't complain with that.

Lycett was great given the circumstances. Best game he has played. If he could clean up his possessions out of packs (ie not handball straight to the opposition) he would be good. I have not been a Lycett fan in the past.

Was a really good effort. Hawthorn are a far more experienced team than us. We are catching them and are not too far off nailing them. They won off the back of two very skilled and old professionals viz. Mitchell and Burgoyne plus the brilliance of Rioli and Roughhead. When those old guys are gone Hawthorn should sink fairly quickly, we are on the rise, they are probably just on the other side of their peak.

Hey yeah 4 guns made the difference -

Mitchell (killed us in the clearances)
Lewis
Burgoyne
Roughead

We were not far off I would like to play them with a full squad but we stood with them toe to toe and pound for pound

Weather forecast for Sunday has gone to shit...

The chance of a thunderstorm later in the day. Winds north to northeasterly 15 to 20 km/h turning northwesterly 20 to 30 km/h during the day. 6-15mm with an 80% chance of rain

If that's the case you have to bring Hill in for Lecca. If it was a dry day I'd definitely consider Lamb as the replacement.

Don't think Naitanui will be back this week and we need to hope like hell that Sinclair is back otherwise our only options whilst Scotty is resting are JK (196cm), Schoey (196cm) or Barrass (194cm) as a second ruck option. :drunk:

Piss Scooter off & give one of Nelson/Bennell a game - reward their good efforts in the WAFL.

In Summary:

Out - Lecca, Gov, Rosa, Scooter

In - Hill, Barrass, Sinclair, Nelson/Bennell

Ginna to Sub.

Getting real tough to field a balanced side now. Running out of talls & the mids/small fwd options in the WAFL aren't cutting the mustard.
