Hey yeah 4 guns made the difference -

Mitchell (killed us in the clearances)
Lewis
Burgoyne
Roughead

We were not far off I would like to play them with a full squad but we stood with them toe to toe and pound for pound

As good as they were, it was Breust who was the difference imo. His fend offs and ability to break tackles created a lot of goals for them.

Would love to have his type of quality in our side.

I tought hutchings was good 19 touches, 12 contested kicked a crucial goal. Better than Selwood

Hutchings will be a good player not sure why so many posters are on his case as he's only played 31 games and most as a sub . Masten,Shuey and Sheppard have taken many years to begin to stand up .

Agreed I am all for him being in the team, at least he puts in a red hot effort and actually had 73% disposal efficiency in a pressure cooker game that is very good. I will def put him ahead of Ginners

9 tackles is applying pressure and learnt from last week by kicking a goal .

According to JK, Gov's hamstring tightened up and they didnt bring him back on as precaution so he could be right for the derby.
Best news I have heard if true. Well for the goodness sake if see the Gov and Yeo in the ruck I am going to loose it. I know we did not have a choice but if we get desperate throw bloody Ginners in the ruck not your gun midfielder and centre half back. Common sense people

Confirmed

I actually think Gov did a really good job when rucking.

He was declared fit, and we were down a ruck. I have no problem with it.
Would suck if he misses another match, but tactically it was fine. Hopefully he's fine.

Agree on that one. He was running around our defenders shrugging off tackles. Kiwi next to me mentioned he looked like a rugby back the way he swivelled his hops and fended off want to be tacklers.

I personally thought Lycett wasn't that great in the ruck.

While Lycett made it to a lot of contests, got a lot of hitouts and disposals, I felt he gave us no advantage in the ruck other than to break even.

Everytime he jumped for the ruck contest he looked so unco.

McGovern in the ruck was great - he hit the ball to our mids advantage.

Weather forecast for Sunday has gone to shit...

The chance of a thunderstorm later in the day. Winds north to northeasterly 15 to 20 km/h turning northwesterly 20 to 30 km/h during the day. 6-15mm with an 80% chance of rain

In Summary:

Out - Lecca, Gov, Rosa, Scooter

In - Hill, Barrass, Sinclair, Nelson/Bennell

Out Rosa, on that forecast his helicopter kicks will have all the accuracy of a Frisbee in a cyclone.

Whilst you at it, out Masten, the only player shaped like a smurf that can't play in the wet and doesn't stand up in big games (i.e. Hawthorn on Sat night).

Notwithstanding the Rosa sentiment, I think Scooter has to be in as this will be red hot with bodies flying everywhere (for Masten see above).

Not in my mind. Guy has been racking it up at EP and has not been given a chance. Surely could kick the goals that McSpud, Selwood and Hutchings always miss.

Lucas cant even hit targets in the WAFL and is on specific seperate training drills to try to improve this with no success yet. I hardly think thats going to improve if he stepped up to a higher level.

Larkins the gun doctor seems to think Mcgovern will not be back to finals.
How did Larkins even get that job? He reports on injuries that he has no idea about before anyone's even seen the scans. I can't ever remember him being correct about one of our players.

Pavlich and Mundy both go in for scans .....happens every week with Freo , let the fun and games begin !

Where was that reported?

- Lecra got one week. Not ideal but better than 2-3.

Light session for @WestCoastEagles. No McGovern or Masten. Sinclair training with no strapping. Running, handball drills only. @9NewsPerth
