I'd be very surprised if Nicnat played, so I'm ruling him out.

Sinkers for McGinnity, Barrass for McGovern, Hill for Lecras.
Agreed with the changes that's the best we can hope for. Going to be a hard task without a gun ruckman, forward, defender anyway lets give a red hot go.

Nelson looks to have been effective through the midfield for Royals and is a good size. We havent played much of a tagger this season (unless Selwood is just doing a terrible job of it) but I wouldnt mind seeing Nelson come in and negate someone's game (Neale?) in the wet, close quarters. Has a good defensive brain and not afraid of some crash and bash.

I recall Nelson having done a decent job on Walters twice earlier in the season. He played midfield in WAFL last week which is where he played most of his football when at Geelong Falcons in 2014. Worthwhile adding to team in my mind.
Agreed. I bet he's included into the extended bench and then dropped because 'inexperienced' though

As good as they were, it was Breust who was the difference imo. His fend offs and ability to break tackles created a lot of goals for them.

Would love to have his type of quality in our side.
Heard Simpson say a number of times that he thinks tackling is an overrated stat, which gives me a feeling that the team doesn't practice tackling as much at training and explains our constant low tackle numbers. Came back to bite us on the weekend, the number of broken tackles the Hawks executed on the weekend led to a few goals and was a big difference at the end of the day

Forecast is now for sun.

Bring in Nelson. Get rid of Selwood.
Not according to BOM it isnt

Perth area
Partly cloudy. Very high (90%) chance of showers. The chance of a thunderstorm. Winds north to northwesterly 20 to 30 km/h tending west to northwesterly 25 to 35 km/h during the day.

I think it will be a wet slog. Which side that favours who knows.

I think us as we have played a bit more wet weather footy. If it is wet i can see them being more cautious with bringing in Johnson for first first game and if they decide to rest Mcpharlin.

Ins-Nelson, Barras, Hill
Outs-Selwood, Gov, LeCras

If Sinclair is right, I'd guess he comes in for Lycett too. Risky only going with 1 ruck though, particularly one coming off injury.

No way we don't play two ruckman.
Both Sinkers and Lycett can rest forward effectively and with Pharlap and Dawkson being out we need to stretch the defense.

He's an underrated gun of the competition, and he has one of those bodies that manages to hold up. Very rarely injured, and rarely misses a goal.

Would love to see Nelson come in to replace Selwood and run through the middle..give the youth a chance!! :p
Agreed normally, but we aren't in a position to be doing that. We are playing for 2nd. I thought our team played very well on Sat night and were only shaded by the Hawks.

Hutchings came in for Sinclair so:

Sinclair in, Hutchings out.

Mcgovern injured so:

Barrass in, Mcgovern out.

Lecras suspended so:

Hill in, Lecras out.

The only question mark is the sub. Rosa? Selwood? Sheed? Or bring in another player aka Nelson.

Hill will get the opportunity to replace Lecras and rightly so. He had a good start to the year but then dropped off and hence got dropped. WC need him in form.

My guess:
Sinclair, Barrass, Hill for Hutchings, Mcgovern, Lecras.

My hope:
Those changes with Nelson in as sub and Selwood out.

I don't like Mcginnity in the side but until a half forward that can provide defensive pressure gets in form (Newman) then he will stay imo.

Hills form is crucial to this side imo. When in form we can apply a lot of defensive pressure whilst also providing skill in the forward line. He is the one to keep Mcginnity out of the side.

It's why WC needs to bring in a Yarran/Jetta. Put them at half forward to compete with Hill. Put a priority on defense pressure and watch them perform or get dropped.

Fair enough, but Selwood has been largely ineffectual for us for weeks, and Nelson has had some exposure to AFL earlier in the year and did well, so i'd be happy for him to get another crack.

Hutchings gets a game over McGinnity surely

Theres no way they will drop him while trying to lift his value...hes deffinately going & good riddens i say but while hes worth a end of first round compo pick..which is a great bloody deal for our vice capitano who somehow cant remember how to play afl...its worth the cringeworthyness.

We can't have Yeo giving Sinclair a chop out for a whole game. With mcgovern now out Sinclair needs to get up to play with Lycett

Bit early to be judging the weather. I'm always on the BOM site hoping for rain (as I work outdoors and get paid days off when it rains.. Winning!!) I'd say about 70-80% of the time when it's meant to "Rain all day", your lucky to see a single freakin' drop.

I hope it pours down though because IMO, we are easily the better wet weather team. Fremantle struggle in the rain.
