Also Barlow gets one more week to see if he can perform but he plays solely in the middle where he only needs to hand it off to guys running past or kicks it short. He clearly can't play high half-forward and he is woeful over 15 metres with his kicking.

Works for me, Mr Cheese...only thing is Barlow and Mayne...

Crozier could come in for Mayne. Depends on his fitness but he played pretty well for Peel. Pretty sure he finished with 23 touches.

In regards to Alex Pearce.. Just leave him at CHB like Michael Johnson. None of this swingman crap we did to McPharlin in 2005 and MJ for a few years. He's not a natural forward. Yeah he can kick 2-3 goals but he's a liability up forward. Put him on Darling and he will do well.

Moose looked better when the ball hit the ground than he did with aerial ball on Saturday. Hopefully a game under the belt will give him the confidence to stick those missed marks.

Probably way off, but it's interesting to see Collins' old man in town at the moment... Maybe Sam is getting a call up this week....

Hope so,he has played well for Peel. I didn't see the game but apparently Silvagni was average so it might be Sam's time to shine.

Played as a midfielder, got 21 touches. That is not enough of the ball and what I saw of him was very poor, I think he needs a few more games in WAFL to get his touch back.

All good mate. Didn't catch any of the game, just saw the stats. Shows how much the stats can lie

I would love to see Crozier get some form and come in as the high half forward. The person playing that role needs to have good skills and also be a natural forward which Barlow is not. That role really needs to be a linking role and Barlow is more of a go and get the ball player rather than a link player.

Nobody does forward pressure act as medium size forward as good as Mayne for freo end of the story. D.Pearce skill is average but he got speed, no way you going to drop our two best 22 to peel.

Forward pressure acts are overrated. What isn't overrated is goals, and Mayne sucks at that.

I'm tipping one change for wc game. Matt deBoer in for either Clancee or MickyB.
I think the rate of new young blood coming into the side is about to slow down until Bennell, Morabito and Yarran are fit.

Yep if you have Weller, Langdon and AP already you cannot really manage any more and not be throwing away games due to lack of experience. We might do this if things do not improve though. Mora is the closest but still another week at least assuming he plays for Peel this W/E.

Silvagni Vs Collins is tough. Alex played really well against Subiaco but was poor against EF, Collins has only had serviceable and 1 good game against EF.

Out: D Pearce, Suban, C Pearce
In: Tucker, Hughes, Grey

Tucker is great kick and can play the rebounding role of halfback, Grey and Hughes are actually defenders instead of playing Sheridan and Sutty down back when they aren't defenders. Sheridan moves onto the wing, Barlow in the guts instead of Subes and Sutty can also play wing. Grey and Hughes might not be sensational kicks but they cant be as bad as some of the guys already in the team.
I like your spud removal business plan but replacing experienced players with poor disposal with inexperienced players with poor disposal doesn't pass the sniff test.

We need to try younger player anywhere, we try deboer, suban ,Barlow six year ago. Furthermore what is the maximum pick we got next year to pick all elite kick player (if we are last on the table) by not giving these young player a chance.

Admittedly I have only seen Hughes play against Port last year, where he was pretty good I thought, is his kicking really that bad?

Seriously, I don't think the mechanics of his kicking are actually too bad, I think it's more a case of poor decision making due to inexperience. He is fast developing the physical attributes to become a very good player and I would be prepared to at least give him a run in place of Clancee.

Thanks mate. Always good to get new info on the boys, especially the young guys. Clancee tries hard but that's not good enough any more. He is way too slow for AFL footy these days.

Yeah, sad to say I agree. I am hoping that it's just a case of him being out of form and maybe not picking up on the new game plan. When he is at his best he is a real ball magnet and one of the few guys in the team who can hoof it 50 metres plus with accuracy. At the moment he is a shadow of his best and needs to go back to Peel for a while.

Yeah I remember how good he was only a few years ago but we can't keep playing people on past glories

Would not be disappointed at all to see MDB replace Barlow, he's much faster and has more mongrel. I think Matty gets a rough time on here, honestly think he'd get a lot of games in the middle at most other clubs, it would be impossible for his disposal to be much worse than Barlow's.
Also wouldn't mind seeing Hughes getting a run eventually, as soon as his disposal improves more he'll get a call up, but it definitely has improved a lot since his first year when we got him in the rookie draft.
