Preview Changes for Derby

Everyone bar Sam Newman on the Footy Show have tipped us to win. Travis Cloke even suggested putting your life savings on Freo at $3.00.

Eagles have conceded 100.5 points per game this season. They will be nervous. Plus it's in front of their own fans and it's a derby. All the signs point towards an upset i.e. Freo winning.

Loving the forecast of rain for the game. Not Bringing in a backup to sandi could be a blessing in the slippery conditions. Would love to see a Dawson or Pearce used in ruck at times and rest sandi forward to see how Ballaz and Walters crumb off him if it is wet. Would help with rebound out of defense too with westcoast height in the forward line

I'm not overly shocked with the one change to the team. Yes like everyone else I would have loved to have seen Tucker come in for his first game, but I think it was probably the right call considering it is a derby and really he should be pushed to put more than one good performance together before getting his first start much like Weller and Langdon were.

I think the inclusion of Deboer is good and suits the conditions well. It looks to me that if the Eagles go in with that line up then they may be one tall to many for the conditions expected which will allow us to run them off their feet a bit.

I like the change, if DeBoer plays as a hard quick smart midfielder that plays within his limitations. If he plays as a shit defensive forward that can't kick on the other hand..

With shiny new expectations and entitlement comes the 24/7 melting board.

Aside from the reality of who else is actually available for selection,de Boer's kicking has improved immeasurably since his drafting(as a rookie if I remember),somewhere on the Freo board they list his 2015 disposal efficiency at over 70% so he's not the clanger merchant some would have us believe.His hardness and handspeed are just the ticket in the guts for a wet derby;particularly since we've been hemorrhaging through there for a fortnight.I'm also with Tayl0r that he may well crunch a chump or three(hopefully the masticator).
Pretty good horse for the course I reckon.

They are going to have a very tall side even without Lycett in the team with Kennedy, McGovern, Nic Nat, Schofield, McKenzie and then add Darling to that who plays as a tall. I would say that this is why they were made to look so slow last weekend by Hawthorn, and thatw as in good conditions.
