If Mitchell tore his ligaments in the top of his foot he may be out fur a while. I did that earlier in summer exile training for racing windsurfers, and it took ages to go away. Hope he's ok though coz we need him.

If they don't bring in kids (which I wish they would but highly doubt they will), I'd drop Priddis and Redden and bring in Hutch to tag Fyfe and Mitchell for Redden if he's fit.

In: Karpany, Mutimer, Partington, Giles
Out: Cripps (ankle), Priddis (managed), Redden (omitted), Masten (omitted)

Butler Schofield Barrass
Yeo McGovern Hurn
Gaff Sheed Nelson
Karpany Darling Vardy
LeCras Kennedy Hill
Giles Shuey Duggan
Partington Sheppard Mutimer Wellingham

Taking out about 750 games of experience and replacing it with about 60 games, all but one of which is provided by Giles. Seems a bit drastic.

And taking out four smalls for three smalls and Giles just makes us taller and slower.

**** you and your well-thought out logic...

And all that 750 games worth of experience is getting us a lot isn't it.
In fact the ones that had the most impact on the game were the kids.
Duggan and Nelson.

Thought Shuey and his 140 games were pretty decent. Didn't see Duggan get a hell of a lot of votes in the other thread.

Duggan and Nelson have about 30 games of experience each. Karpany, Mutimer and Partington have a combined total of one.

That's plenty

Wouldn't mind throwing some kids in, see what they can do. Hell freo did it and knocked off the Dogs. Mind you they seem to pickup kids who are ready for AFL footy. We seem to pickup kids who are injured or are "projects" (see, e.g, Lamb)

Yeah Shuey was decent although not as damaging as he is at home.

Just think our side is in desperate need of youth. 1 or 3 would change us up I reckon.
Hopefully the few injuries we have will open the door for some young players...Even if it costs us a few games to let them find their feet.

Look at other sides with new players having a massive influence on their teams including Fremantle and port.

Is it 750 'games of experience' or one poor game repeated 750 times. I suggest it is closer to the latter.
Rick Charlsworth wrote you ignore youth at your peril.

I'd obviously rather the win, but these losses wouldn't hurt so bad if it were down to blooding kids who ran their hearts out every game. The problem is on paper we should be a top 4 team and the coaching groups poor tactical nous in combination with lazy play is really costing us.

Being from SA its hard for me to say who is currently down at East Perth who deserves a game.

Having said that I do have some opinions.

A few years ago i was majorly concerned that thevfaith in leaving Priddis in the middle was hampering the development of Brad Ebert. Ebert was always going to go back to Port, they put him in the middle and shock horror Ebert is an extremely good player. Im concerned that both Sheed and Redden are being held back. I maybe wrong and Sheed may get no better and Redden might just be a spud. But i think the time has come that Priddis is given a rest or omitted to see if added responsibility boosts Sheed and Redden.

The MC have a decision to make regarding the ruck. McEvoy was made to look like Simon Madden against Vardy. So alarm beĺls ring with what Sandilands will do to us. So do we play 2 ruckmen thus playing even taller.. Or do we concede that Sandilands will dominate even with 2 ruckmen against him so just pick one. Is it Giles or Vardy? Based on the weekend Giles deserves a crack.

Im a Darling fan but he is extremely close to the edge. I do think its well past due to concede that he is a 3rd tall option at best. So to me Gov needs to play forward to help Darling and JK. It's a shame that LeCras is nothing but a small marking forward and provides no crumbing. In a perfect world id have Rioli replace him but thats a while away yet.

I hope that Nelson is transitioned to the midfield. On top of this I hope Nelson Sheed and Duggan are kept in the team. I think its time for Butler to be retire.

At the very least I hope that Rioli Venables Mutimer Karpany Cole and Watson get good runs in the team over the course of the season. Who else id leave to someone with a bette understanding.

So for this week a few changes.

Out Vardy Butler Priddis Cripps Shephetd6

As for ins well i think Giles Karpany Mutimer Cole need to come in. Not sure who else.

Cripps looks like he's out for two months...We're in big trouble.
Highly underrated for the role he plays and we have very few of his type on the roster.
A massive blow to the side.
My bet there will be only one change for Freo, as Simmo will give the group 'a chance to redeem themselves'. Ironically, Jetta will probably come in :D He will probably play well, then suck for two then get dropped again.
WHat a bloody mess we are ATM.

So you're happy to just keep the kids in the WAFL? Seriously, I get that it's not the most cautious approach but we were nothing short of embarrassing on Sunday and we need to start planning for the future.

The changes would also send a message to the group that mediocrity won't be tolerated (Redden, Masten out), and give the likes of Duggan and Sheed a chance to spend more time on-ball (Priddis out).

I was all for the one ruckman experiment but in hindsight, I tend to agree with what Simmo had been implying earlier in the season - that Giles and Vardy aren't good enough to go it alone, especially against someone like Sandilands.

Probably taller than ideal but if it means Gov goes forward, so be it

What i want and what I'm afraid will see is vastly different

What I want to see

IN: Giles, Mitchell/ Hutchings, Karpany/ Mutimer, Mackenzie
OUT: Butler (omit), Redden (omit), Cripps (inj), Sheppard (inj)

To counter Sandilands we need that second ruck in Giles, especially if Vardy was to go down. Think the time has come for Butler to be a depth defender only. We may get better team balance but the arguments out there if we would improve with him in the 22 each week at the expense of a younger player

As much as I want Mitchell back in the team I think it's still a race against time, don't want him in underdone. Hutch has been putting his hand up in the 2's and Redden just looked slow with his ball movement against the Hawks. No intent.

As far the likely injury to Cripps well the best like replacement is MagicKarp but he'll be in on the back of no footy for two weeks (travelling emergency against Hawks). Mutimer i think is ready to go now. We need to make use of his long kick and pace.

My ideal situation I'd love Mackenzie back as well. Allows Gov to be more permanent ruck/ forward but if Butler is out already than I'm clutching at straws with a defender to drop out for Mackenzie. Maybe the injured Sheppard?

Out - Cripps, Redden, Butler
In - Mutimer, Karpany, Hutchings

We will be spanked in the ruck regardless, no point bringing Giles in.
