Redden was bitterly disappointing last week but I do get the argument that his Sydney game earned a credit. Drop him for Karps if he doesn't perform this week. Mutimer in is good.

Hope Karpany is the late in and not Hutchings, if necessary. I feel like he is worth one more go and could be one of those players that goes up a level when playing a higher level of football.

So it's reddened 150th this week. Could that be one of the reasons why he wasn't dropped?

I

Cheers for the comments on each one of my selections. Did you read the essay I wrote underneath my selections as to why I picked this side ?

I did but I couldn't for the life of me work out how you reconciled your "have a crack or go home" mantra with the selection of Jetta. And the dropping of Priddis for that matter, for all his faults he's never been accused of not giving it a crack.

Also interested to know why you'd have all of Barrass Schofield and MacKenzie in the back line when Freo have no genuine tall forwards. With Giles and Vardy rucking and Gov and Kennedy playing as permanent tall forwards. Apparently we're not slow and lumbering enough for your liking?

So put a big cross through the Jetta and MacKenzie selections. Also the Priddis and Masten omissions, and the Darling one. None of them actually warrant axing on form no matter how much the mouth breathers here and on Facebook insist they do.

Then you're left with Karpany as an in and Redden as an out. Maybe there's an argument for that, but Redden actually played well against Sydney two weeks ago and Karpany's form hadnt been that compelling before he was surprisingly included in the traveling party last week.

He's not an emergency so it looks unlikely.

Awe inspiring

Then Redden ( as suggested) goes back and get 35+ whilst ol mate Karpany gets 12 meaningless positions on HFF, less if played v a hardened AFL midfield side...

Please understand, I agree with you. But there is literally **** all in the cupboard to pick from. DV and Watson excluded.

Masten, Redden, Priddis. We all want them out. But that youth in the reserves. Dear me, it is a nightmare.
I wish we had midfielders who know how to kick goals. Apart from Shuey, we don't get too many goals out of Priddis, Gaff, Redden, etc. a lot of the other top sides have midfielders who contribute to the scoreboard more than ours do, generally speaking.

Especially with Fyfe, Mundy and Neale combining for 15 goals already this season. Hopefully Priddis can snag a couple of left-foot helicopters

Before everyone starts bemoaning our depth, the following would be either definite playing or a chance to be included had they not been injured:

Naitanui
Lycett
Cripps
Nelson
Partington
Rioli
Watson
Petrie

Tunbridge and Waterman not so much
Wouldn't mind a bit of Tunbridge's mongrel in the team, which is why I liked him in the side for the few games he played last year. May not have the best skills in the world but he did make the opposition stop and take notice when he was around the place.

Pretty close to the changes I figured would happen. Personally would of swapped Giles for Vardy, kept Schofield so Gov could play forawrd. Also would of brought Karpany in. Losing Cripps is massive. I am hugely concerned about any crumbing in our forward line as well as pressure being applied once the ball hits the ground. Can see it slingshotting out twice as fast.

But looking at our injury list the MC pretty much had their hands tied with who is available. Hopefully they are willing to give some of those guys a go when fitness permits. Not just shuffle deck chairs on the titanic

My changes would've been as named except Karps for Cripps as more similar style of players and Mutimer as backup if Mitchell doesn't get up.

Tank 1 game to send a message. Flags aren't won in rd 6 and either way wont be winning 1 this year
And should this happen and we miss out on the finals by one game? Throwing a game is not the way to go. Not very smart I wouldn't think. You just don't know - we may get out s**t together in the second half of the season.

Daniel has pace, knows how to accumulate, is versatile and has good skills. Parto on knows how to accumulate. Don't think he's the type you can sit on HFF or even wing tbh.
He has kicked a few goals in a mud EP side this year. Couldn't be worse than Masten.

I can see why schoey was dropped mccarthy and kerstan are 193 and 191cm . We don't need Barrass gov yeo and schofield to cover those 2 .
Freo have gone in with a small running side

Giles comes in as vardy was poor Rucking alone last week and Sanderlands is a big task .
Mitchell comes in no Brainer

murtimur is the best performed youngster who has some mongrel and has kicked a few goals this year . Great selection and good luck to the kid

All in all good changes even if 2 were forced by injuries
