I’m getting a wiff of the GWS game here. Yes I know our game is better than what it was then but the lack of talls was a major reason we lost that. All it takes is one injury during the game.
I hear Bucks talk a lot about keeping the structure, so if that’s the case, McLarty should have been the logical in.
You can tell we have injuries the fact that Crocker is getting picked and so is Oxley.
Richmond and Carlton proved if you play tight and aggressive on Essington, they just go to water.
They are a bunch of soft downhill skiiers, but if we let them play their footy, we risk losing this.
This is where the coaches earn their keep - we must drum into our players to not get sucked into a shoot out.

Wouldn’t Langdon be a good match for Stringer?Greenwood and Murray to come in for dunn and Langdon, the only reason Langdon is out is that there is no real role for him this week
I'm worried about Essendon's talls because they have been good. With our small forward line, I wouldn't be shocked to see Hooker play forward as well to really stretch us. But I think their forward line is more manageable than if there was Danniher and Stewart who would be bigger aeriel threats. The bigger danger is the likes of Stringer and Fantasia.
I keep wondering why they are playing daicos ahead of brown. Maybe they will finally swap this week.
Saad is overated as. Literally does 1/2 runs maybe a game and barely hurts you. I would put very very little time into him
He has played forward many times before and has the height and strength to compete with tall defenders or to play a defensive forward role.
Most of the other vfl options havent got the same credentials up forward and hence are less like for like than Greenwood is.
I’m not going to get into a semantics war about it though. I get it. You don’t like him. Your selection strategy is anyone but him.
Greenwood? Has he had a growth spurt or are you thinking of the Crows version? Our Greenwood is still listed at 181cm as far as I'm aware.

Fair point but he plays equally well against talls and smalls. Not totally fussed where in the lineup he stands, at the end of the day the Essendon defenders will choose their own opponents, but I think Greenwood should be part of the forward setup. Mayne is another option but hes been exceptional in his new role of wing and I wouldnt want to change that.
Anyone else remembers Langdons first ANZAC Day game where he went alright and everyone was calling him the next Clement, oh boy do times change

probably because that's where he belongs
true, lucky for him, but you're right about there not being much choice. But if you look at his performance on ANZAC Day, I'd be astounded if he plays.Bit harsh, he hasn't been terrible. And, y'know, also not much choice right now tbh
