We might have to bring back Greenwood as a tagger and go a bit more defensive to ease pressure on the ball going quick into our def 50, I bet they wished they played McClarty as a defender all year instead of forward/ruck, anyway, why can't moore come straight in?, other teams are doing it, Liam Ryan back after 8 weeks out and so was sloane

Can we swing Mihocek back and McLarty forward ?

I've been watching a different Collingwood backline to you this year.

Dunn has been our most important defender this year.

He is a massive loss.

Agree entirely. Leadership has been immense and organising the back 6. Something Maxwell got not enough credit for.

Reid if anything has been the liability , his output when on the field has been below average or he has been injured in a game

I'm not a Greenwood fan, but this week he comes in just to tag one of their downhill skiiers, I'd say Merrett - he just gives up if tagged.

Make Floggard accountable, he will just start pointing his finger at everyone else and the rot will set in.

We cannot afford to just let them play loose.

We are going to have to blood McClarty either way, although, he is probably not qite ready, anyway, you never know he might come in and be a star

He’s a real big unit too.
Something like 6’7” or 6’8” real big.
Vice like grip.

Nice guy.

Might just adapt with good players around him.

Given the nature of our soft tissue injuries, id rather make this weekends game more difficult without Moore and keep him for the rest of the season as a replacement for Dunn instead of risking him this week. A win against the bombers would be good, but given our form so far, we can take a loss in order to build a stronger side for September.

Being big and nice doesn't mean he is going to be any good. He looked promising early in the season but just hasn't vindicated the early accolades for him.

That’s true.
But being big sure does help.

It’s as always up to the player to produce.

If a big player is what's required, then McLarty is better qualified than Blair for the role. Unless he allows his opponent to run riot and fails to get a touch. Hopefully he has been saving his best for a crisis such as this.

I’d rather bring Moore straight back rather than reward McClary after some indifferent vfl form.

Or do neither and play smaller.

I thought yesterday Maclarty but now I'm think neither. Cox and a small forward line. I have seen enough of Mihocek to think he can hold down Dunnes spot. Maybe not as well but good enough.

It's official...

We'll play five mediums and one tall in the forward line until Reid or Moore are ready. De Goey to replace Mihocek who goes back. WHE the nominal CHF.

Greenwood/Varcoe to replace DeGoey in the middle.

WHE's ankle looked pretty bad, will he be right to go? and if so is it worth risking extra damage playing him sore?

He could barely jump or change directions after he hurt it in the marking contest in the 2nd half. Was surprised they kept him out there tbh as he looked shot.

Also surprised none have picked up on it as it was obvious as dogs balls, after he hurt it he was playing lame.

Mihocek, Langdon, Howe, Shaz, Crisp, Appleby and Maynard should still be a solid defence. Hopefully Mihocek can fill the void of Dunn. Lose some leadership, but he looked a natural defender at times on the weekend.

Cox, Stephenson, Varcoe, WHE, JT, Crocker (replaced by Elliott) should still be a reasonable forward line with Degoey and Sidebottom rotating in. Don't think the second tall is a necessity, just play cox closer to goal imo.
