IN: Switta, Hill, Tucker, Hamling

OUT: Banfield, Walters, Giro and Nyhuis

No farewell for Pearce sucks tbh

I presume that D Pearce and Spurr will either be interviewed on the ground or will go around the ground (both played 100+) with Johnno getting the cheers all game.

Pearce probably thought why bother or he perhaps he genuinely wants to get Peel across the line.

Do it Bondy!!! :D
Then we can trade Tabs and next years 3rd to GC for pick 3

I think the peel game is at the same time as the freo game

It’s been confirmed somewhere that DP really wants to see Peel into the finals - Subi will beat Perth which means all we have to do is get over the line against EP. Why take our best player out for emotional reasons?

Giro and Banfield must surely be cooked - feel Nyhuis a bit stiff to be dropped, he wasn’t the reason the Cats kicked 23 straight.

feel bad for nyhuis if only his name was hayden ballentyne

Like the ins, although I feel a bit queasy whenever I see Hilly coming back in after a brief stint on the sidelines. Hopefully he can run out the game fine, bringing him back for our last dead rubber seems a bit risky for little gain to me.

Disappointed for Nyhuis, probably competing with Duman as a medium defender and lost out on team balance this week with Hammer back in. Looks like we plan to run our arses off. I expect him to be a regular down back next year though

He gets to be there for Johno's last game. That would mean a lot to Hilly.

Yeah fair enough. Probably accounts for Ballas retaining his spot too. It's a damn shame Sonny had to miss, him and Johnno are also pretty close. Sandi too, obviously.

Anyway, decent enough looking team on paper. Don't see us winning but if we can muster some intensity we should give the Pies a bit of a headache at least.

Bit ridiculous that Ballas stays in but not exactly surprised.

Have to say though I think DP not wanting the arbitrary/self-serving farewell game (assuming that's true) gives me even greater respect for the way the guy has conducted himself this year.

Nyhuis out? The hell? He was one of the best. Held Dangerfield well. He's a scapegoat clearly.
Ballas still in. Yeah 4 disposals. All good

Nyhuis getting dropped, and his fellow rookies being elevated over the past couple of weeks = certain delisting. STUPIDITY!!

I reckon weve gone too tall in the backline to counter MCox . So unfortunately their smalls are gonna have field day. I hope this isnt repeat of our last game at subi (tigers) where we got pumped mercilessly.

Can kind of understand it with wanting to have a bit of a farewell game but you'd have thought Nyhuis would have been the exactly the player we'd want lining up on a few of their medium talls.

Little worried Johnno is going to be absolutely torched in his last game by a Stephenson/De Goey.

I'm with you , their quick forwards vs our pathetic ground ball defence

They will outscore us just on goals kicked from inside 10m or maybe even from the goal square

Are the pies resting a heap of players ? The line is 33.5 that's about 20 pts short for mine

Nyhuis is the perfect match up for De Gooey.

Pies have no height in either forward nor defence. Not sure why we're so stacked down back.
Grundy is full time ruck. Hamling goes on Cox. Who's Pearce going on? De Gooey. Duman will get mauled by him, MJ is too slow.
Then there's Stephenson and Hoskins. Bizarre line up

I have had next to zero emotion about all things Freo the last half of this year but a couple of these selections have triggered me.
How the **** Balla’s Stays in has me beat. He was beyond woeful last week and his form line over the past month/s has been similarly pathetic (bar one half decent showing).

Irrespective of how well Nyhuis played last week, we drop him and retain the slow dinosaur in Jhonno ? WTF ? Against a plethora of speedy mid-sized flanker/forwards ????

Am I getting confused or has Ross said previously there is no place for sentiment in football ....

We trot out our worst performance in the history of the club all the while steadfastly maintaining this ‘rebuild’ narrative; so what does the club do the next week ?
Yep, drops Nyhuis over Jhonno.
