Everyone complains we don't play enough young kids, then the team comes out and people say that Nelson shouldn't be in the squad and Waterman has only gotten a token emergency spot.

Classic.

My point wasn't to complain that he's been brought in, it's why did they bother dropping him in the first place? From all reports he didn't have a great game in the WAFL so he obviously wasn't dropped to find form.

Presumably matchups, we went with the three tall defenders and he was the one to make way.

Noone's upset about Waterman getting picked, just that given selections so far this year it would be a massive surprise if he gets picked in the 22. Picking a guy who had half a dozen kicked on him is a strange decision however you spin it. Like I said, I like Nelson, but you can't reward that sort of form.

And why take Lamb over last week?

Bring in 2 of the three players that got towelled up by a skinny kid and a player who is still on limited minutes and hasn't played a full game at any level this season.

Appropriate end to the year by the selection panel.

How about play someone who's actually likely to play next year instead of the all-retirement squad?

Or how about showing respect to a great of the club and let him play his last game at subi. Surely that means more than some kid who will barely get a touch in a likely meaningless game.

Would love to see Jake playing. Would a be a good match up for lever.

Happy that kids are being given games.
But it is noteworthy that Nelson gets games despite not really playing that well at WAFL level.

Was a good opportunity to give Snadden a debut and something to build on over the off season after playing well on the weekend. Granted he's on the rookie list but surely we have space to upgrade.

Of the extended bench I would pick Jetta, Partington, Waterman and one of Nelson or Hutchings. Hutchings is the clear most likely choice based on previous selections. Time for Cripps to go.

Did I mention Priddis? How about Mitchell, fairly sure playing his last game at Subi wouldn't mean much to him. It's not meaningless to the kid who gets a game of experience. This kind of runs on the board thinking is what has gotten us to this point of having hardly anyone under 25 with more than a handful of games to their name.

Snadden's had a couple of good WAFL games in a row. He's also spent a pretty big chunk of the year in the reserves. If you're looking to blood youngsters I think you need to look at their form over a little longer than a week.

I made the token emergency spot crack, but i'd be absolutely thrilled if he actually makes the team.

It's more the 2 seasons of insipid team selections that has made me cynical.

To be fair they may be worried about us going too far the other way...
