Changes for first final

Libba worries me. Little pr!ck but can play. Was genuinely surprised at how well he came back after his knee. Will give them every chance at getting first use. That has me nervous.

Whatever ball they win, Barrass & Gov will kill or mark, then the lads will rebound.

Their forward line is poor.

They wont cause many, if any, issues.

What did I tell you about this whole positive, optimistic, common sense posting shit?

They'll bring Stringer in, he'll pull a few out of his arse and lift for a final. He is that sort of player.

This is just me going through my Glass half empty process.

Be patient.

Wellingham cleared by the MRP despite Stevo's best efforts to get him suspended.

especially once you throw in the few hours on a plane, which the dogs don't do well.

Those pet cages are pretty cramped so I'm not surprised

In light of the 2 weeks Tunbridge got for his sling tackle it was interesting to see Naismith get a $1000 fine only for a spear tackle on houli- picked him up off the ground and then slammed him into the ground from height well after he'd disposed of the ball. But no injury, could easily have been, so no suspension

It's our best 22 on current form.

Stop shitting on Hill FFS, he's got more runs on the board this season than Lecrap does. He's dropped off recently but his season as a whole has been great.

If Karpany is ever going to replace anyone this week (which he won't) it should be for the downhill skier himself, who pretty much didn't rear his head for anything positive during the Adelaide game until it was pretty much over and he got the ski's out for a couple goals. Did work hard and was rewarded for that tackle on Lever though, which was good to see.
His 3 misses included 2 posters and one snap over his head because a ball was touched. He provided a shit load of leads, created a lot of space, laid some good tackles and has had some awesome weighted passes the past few weeks. I think he's been good for a while now.

I don't think there should be any changes.

Hill's form will turn around, he has still managed to pop up for handy goals. My biggest gripe with him is he won't dedicate himself fully to a tackle, probably because he likes to keep his feet, it allows him to apply a better second effort, but sometimes from behind he will fun up and try an arm slap (like an NFL strip tackle of sorts) when he could easily get holding the ball if he lunged forward and applied his full body weight.

Nelson makes the odd mistake or two but his heart and mongrel is second to none. His intensity will lift others around him which can only be a good thing

Bit sad when we are relying on a second year player to provide heart and mongrel.

BTW - I am in the Nelson camp. All good here - just sad.

Edit - adding
I don't he should replace anyone unless there are injuries between now and then. I would go in unchanged at the moment.

Hills been good at times but 23 goals for the year is poor (he kicked 40 goals last season). jamie cripps as a defensive forward has 28 goals next to his name and has been much better. Hill wont be dropped now but if he starts next season like that, he will get dropped.

Hey the last time we played the dogs I don't believe we had the Harassment Panda. They will be lucky to get an inside 50 that isn't an intercept mark to either Gov or Barrass.

Hill and Cripps have played very different roles this year. Hilly has been all over the ground and spend plenty of time back of centre. It's no surprise his gpg has dropped. Hill was very good earlier in the year when Cripps was stinking it up if one is prepared to cast their mind back a little...

if you read it again you will see that i stated that he was good at times. But thats the biggest issue i have had with him throughout his eagles career. 2012 he put on a good season and then did SFA (a except a few games here and there) in the following two years. Last year he put up another solid season but was on the verge of being dropped for the derby and then he instantly found form. Theres been times i have liked hilly when he tackles someone, or pushes into defence to spoil. But still his disposals, inside 50's, meters gained, score involvements and ect are all pretty average. Theres plenty of players in the comp that will push down the ground and this have more goals than him. He will not be dropped as we have no immediate replacement for him but he will soon be out the door if guys like tunner and karps dominate WAFL. In fact yeo could play his role.

Care to drop some names? There's 57 players with more goals than Hilly this year and not many of them are jumping out at me as forwards who work around the ground like Hilly has had to, especially of a medium type.

Hilly is going at 23.8 too. Reliable as **** from limited opportunity.

Hills role has changed imo. Throughout the year he spent a fair amount of time on the wing and would regularly pop up in defence to help out.

Last 4 weeks he's been poor though, it's almost like he's been told to stay closer to home, hasn't roamed around as much getting involved.

I'm not worried by his goal output compared to last year, he's played well for the majority of 2016.

Watching the replay Hill was a lot better than I thought on first viewing of the Crows game. Quiet, but he worked hard and was pivotal in those two quick second quarter goals that steadied the ship.

I expect we'll go in unchanged if everyone is fit and Wellers is ok with the mrp.
Hill does a fair few unobtrusive things, even when he's down on form. The commentators missed a sublime tap on for a goal to Darling against the Hawks (it was a bit quick for them), and he does play his role in the game plan. While JJK, JD etc are getting silver service he will get fewer chances to score but will contribute to the forward's movement patterns and is always a danger, maybe especially against the Dogs. If he and Yeo come up to speed with the rest of the team, and JD kicks straight, we can and will beat anybody. Anytime. Anywhere.

Anyone doing a spear tackle should do weeks.
