If we make it through to next week you would think Tunbridge will come straight in.
Brown won't be taking Jettas role this week. Possibly a defensive role on Stringer and backup for Lycett. If Lycett is ok I wouldn't be surprised if Giles is a late out either

Brown has been selected because he is a big,hard body and has height. He is also insurance for Lycett. We thrashed an undersized Hawthorn in the air and I think Simpson is looking to do the same thing against an undersized Bullies.
None of the emergencies scream 'pick me'.
I think if Tunbridge was available he would have been picked, but he isn't so Brown is considered the next best weighing up all the factors. If we want to do better in contested ball then a big beast like Brown will help.
Maybe they will put him on Stringer.

Stringer is way too nimble for Brown. Also, Schofield, Gov, Barrass, AND Brown in defence is complete overkill given the size of the Bulldogs' forwards.

Butts and Wellers will work on Stringer.

As others have suggested, Brown is in to cover Lycett; I expect either one of them to be replaced tomorrow by Nelson (effectively Jetta out for Muntz), who can assist in defending their dangerous smalls.

by my estimation he's put together maybe a single season's worth of useful games for us, all of them as a key back, which is the one position he almost certainly won't be playing tomorrow.

It's illegal when you bring someone in from outside the 22 plus emergencies .

You can definitely do it, I think there might be a please explain or a small fine involved but you can bring non-listed emergencies in. It's happened multiple times in the last few years.
