We won't be making 4 changes.

We lost by 3 goals to the current premiership favourite because we lost our heads and panicked for a quarter and a half.

Unlike last year we actually adjusted and regained our composure to get the contest back to an arm wrestle.

I'd suggest we'll make 1 unforced change with Pittard coming in. Maybe 2 at most.

I don't know if Pittard is 100% yet. I didn't get to see what he could really do vs Glenelg. Every time he got the ball there was a few players around to tackle him. It was highly contested.

I would not be surprised if he got another week in the SANFL to at least show some dash and dare off half back.

Has not shown it in the AFL.

Worse than Butcher.

Judging Eddy on such a small sample of games is just as bad as the treatment Butcher got in the last couple of years. Let's not make the same mistakes again and give Eddy some time to settle and prove himself.

If he doesn't improve in the next 2-3 weeks then sure, give him a spell in the twos.

That's the point. There was no need to get rid of Butcher and bring in a slightly worse and older replacement.

Butcher only ever got 31 games ffs!

I'm not sure atley is ready yet. Maybe white instead.

I reckon White looked to have some of his pace back in the Sturt trial which is a positive but he hasn't played for 2 weeks now.

Played 3 games, 1 a wet day in Sydney, another at home in a 89 point win, where he provided a bit, the other a showdown, the toughest game of the year in a game where the midfield got smashed and after qtr time we could barely move the ball with any system...He will be ok

Preaching to the converted!

But what's done is done. Just because Butcher arguably got a raw deal doesn't mean Eddy should too. He's a proven goalkicker in the stainful so let's back him in.

It's more about how he isn't an upgrade rather than Eddy himself.

It is an upgrade, butcher wasn't good enough, eddy may not be, but it's too early to base that on what we have seen so far. Come back midyear and let's reassess where we are with him, butcher had 8 seasons on out list, proved he wasn't good enough, eddy has had 5 minutes...

OUT:
S.Gray (Burns it too often)
Amon (Has been good but struggled with game intensity)

IN:
Atley (Let's see if he can win the contested ball at this level)
Pittard (Might still be a bit rusty but critical run and carry)

OUT: Running through centre and HF and bombing it to a forward contest. 1st Quarter and previous weeks shows we can do better than that. We need good ball users delivering to forward line, hence moving Houston to a wing.

Eddy Dixon Gray

Powell-Pepper Westhoff Wingard

Polec Ebert Houston

Pittard Trengove Hartlett

Jonas Clurey Byrne-Jones

1R: Ryder, Wines, Boak

INT: Broadbent, Atley, Young, Impey

No, it's not too early. In the 8 seasons and despite being younger his stats are still better with room for improvement.

It doesn't matter now anyway.

He got checked in his run by Knight then retaliated - not sure if anything was said.

VISION IS HERE ...3RD VIDEO DOWN THE PAGE ...

Yeh. They do not show footage of why Ryder was put to ground. Ryder made a bee line for him in what looked a clear response to a prior incident. If Ryder hit him in the face, then he is in a bit of trouble, but the vision looks unclear. Looks like Knight's view will play a role in the outcome.

Chiwigi is totally right about Butcher, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't be giving Eddy a sustained opportunity at least until Howard is fit and ready to come in.

Eddy only had 51% TOG. He's getting dropped because he can't play to the system at the moment.
