Similar thoughts to most I guess:

Out:
Browne (inj.)
Longmuir (not fit enough)
Gilmore (coughs it up almost every time)
Headland (if suspended)

In:
Black
Webster for Headland
Warnock for Gilmore as 2nd ruck/forward option
Dunn (strong at packs and tackling which Melbourne are prone to)

I would consider Kiwi for Longmuir as the third tall up forward but if the ground is wet I think you would be better going for a ground level player like Dunn. Ibbo or Collard have the attraction of pace and we need a player to do the role that Peake was doing in creating a lose man with his run but I am not sure they are ready yet.

Drum needs to do more, Ibbo coming along nicely but needs more time.
Warnock has to be better than a half fit Longmuir and Gilmore combination. Not sure if Collard would suit just yet on a wet MCG. Troy Cook was played for his tackling despite not being match fit (thus half the time on the bench) - his previous game was against the AIS juniors for crying out loud, should be better for the run.

Out : Browne
J-Lo
Solly:thumbsd:

In : Black
Warnock (he would be pumped up to play against his brothers team)
Dunn (Your time is now):thumbsu:

Des, would give him one more run, Cant drop Parker(it would be the hardest thing to do)Solly is not worth it ....too many clangers and free`s against .

Tempting : Collard / Mourish ???

Re: Changea Rnd 4 v Melbourne (MCG)

I would love to say..Gilmore get out!

But who else is going to support the big fella in the ruck?

He is in the side due to necessity...NOTHING MORE

Ahhhh we have Warnock who was recruited as a ruckman or campbell or murphy. Gilmore is too indecisive, doesnt take the first option, he has no problem getting the ball it is what happens once he gets the ball. IMO if gilmore is only in the side to back big sandi up that is pointless. Why wouldnt you play a guy like warnock who actually plays in the position and not filling in.

J-Lo - no argument
Interesting on Solly. I agree that he did not give us that much on the weekend, but surely he would offer us a lot more at a rainy MCG though.

Slacker, He should be giving us more... but the guy is no good... saw first hand the last few years in Melb (unlucky for me I had bomber mates who use to rave about this guy and got dragged to a few bomber games)

He is at best at defender ... a slow one at that... now we are trying to turn him into a forward, cause he is suppose to be tough and will make defenders scared that he is around ... What a joke ...

I was quite vocal during draft time about not getting this guy...

Look at last years stats and the year before ...
Clangers and free`s against...

In saying that i am prepapred for him to prove me wrong .. But at this stage come season end we will all be saying the same things ...

I can definitely understand your point of view. I was not a fan of the Tarrant/Solly trade as I thought all the benefits were too short term. Now that we are at 0-3 I'm not getting a warm fuzzy feeling about them.

I agree that Solly is not a forward, IMO his kicking against Port looked pretty weak when he got those two goals. Unfortunately, the AFLs efforts to eliminate much of the physicality from the game has not been good for him. Maybe later in the season when the umps revert to normal?

STill think he should be an asset in wet conditions.

Showers are forecast for Melbourne on Sunday so this is my team at this stage (it's bound to change again before Sunday ;) )-

B- Parker McPharlin Dodd
HB- Dunn Grover Black
C- McManus Hasleby Crowley
HF- Bell Pavlich Solomon
F- Collard Tarrant Hayden
R- Sandi Carr Carr

Int- Gilmore Mundy Cook Walker

In- Collard, Dunn, Black
Out- Headland, Longmuir, Browne
Not bad.:thumbsu:

Out-
Headland (susp)
Browne (inj)
J-Lo (not 100%)

In-
Black
Webster
Warnock

Emg-
Dunn
Collard
Ibbo
Kiwi

I am pumped for this game... should be a great game. Hopefully we will flog him. Need to get off to a good start as we will probally run out of legs late in the game after a high intesity game last week.

Out: In:

J Carr (susp) ??? Dunn
Headland(susp) Black
Browne(injuried) Webster
J Longmuir(not 100%) Warnock/Murphy
Grover(injuried) ??? Drum

If there is any chance of rain (showers are currently forecast) Warnock won't play, it would be bloody stupid to go into a game in the wet with a guy who is 211cm supported by one who is 205cm. If rain is still forecast the morning of the game and Dunn and Webster don't play then CC has lost the plot, both are tailor made for wet weather footy.

Collard and Warnie to debut against the Crows in round 5, aslong as they perform well in the wafl this weekend.

The melbourne papers say J.Walker is injured (leg) 3 weeks !!!!!
can anyone confirm ???
Most likely they've confused him with Grover -- who aparently is not injured.

Watching the tape again last night, Walker was harder at it than I can ever remember. He's lifted a notch so he should keep his place -- unless he really is injured.

I think the door will open for Dunn if Josh Carr goes. Its encouraging that he's strung together some good games for the East Freo. But could also be Webster. Maybe Collard for Browne.

But my real opinion, is its like shifting deck chairs on the titanic. Unless we fix the skill errors from even our better players we'll keep making it difficult for ourselves.

And FFS, if Sandi is in the goal square one out, stop kicking it to Pavlich in the pocket.

I've noticed that alot of supporters have been hard on players like Walker !!! Give em a break !!! he along with Browne have been outta the side for a long time !!!!! Credit to their return, its just a dam shame about brownes hammy! surley thats gonna play on his mind, been out a long time cos of it and for him to injure it again after whats been a good showing in the first few rds!!!!

If the suspensions stick......

OUT: Browne (inj)
Headland (susp)
JCarr (susp)
Longmuir (form)
Gilmore (form/softness)

IN: Warnock (replace Longmuir ASAP)
Webster (better than Gilmore)
Black (to play midfield in place of JCarr)
Dunn (play midfield in place of Headland)
Duffield (replace Browne across HFF)

Didn't Warnock come from the ground with a foot injury on Saturday while playing for the Garlic Munchers?
Don't write Des off just yet.He may still play.
It must surely be time now for Dunn to be given a crack. He seems to be injury free at long last.
Gilmore will play make no mistake anout that.He at least got the ball on Saturday unlike some others.

I haven't watched Gilmore too much to pass judgment on his skills, so I am not going to be specific.
The team in general doesn't have major problems with GETTING the ball it is keeping it through quality ball movement that is our problem.

What about playing Thornton ??

Or is he out injured ?

With Carr and Headland free to play:

Out: Browne, JLo, Gilmore
In: Black, Webster, Warnock

Maybe Dunn or Ibbo as a smokey. Quick ball movement through the corridor at the MCG is the key to winning.

Just go hard at the ball boys, win the game and don't get any more tribunal hearings....
