One bad game to Wakelin does not indicate that he should miss a game next week.
Neither should Nathan Brown. Brown needs to playout the season unless his form drops dramaticaly.
I'll agree that Maxwell's performances of late have not been that great, but he tries his hardest, which is more than I can say for a few guys out there.
It's time for O'Bree to experience VFL again, same with Ben Johnson. Every time these guys get the ball I cringe. It could be end of the road time for both of them soon i think.
If we are any chance in the finals Holland must be played into form. He is a hard body and we desperately need that in the middle at the moment.
I'm up for giving Stanley a run in the next few weeks as well.

Johnson: Not up to it, needs to be dropped. Goldsack to fill his role.

R Shaw: The sooner he goes, the better we become! Stanley to be given a go and play his role in the midfield. Has been on the list for 3 years and we need to try him out.

Didak: Star, but will get a week! Fraser to come in and play full time as a forward and hopefully show us why we should keep him for 2009.

Lockyer: Needs to make a statement, he has done nothing this year. Nowhere near the form of 2006-07. Need to give Lonie a game as players that can kick the ball like he can, need to be given another shot.

Davis: Been terrible the last couple of weeks.... terrific goal sneak but needs to find form back in the twos.

Why do people want Wood Dropped when he needs to develop and Not give time to Bryan who might be gone at years end?

Kreuzer is a great talent but even he is still quite far off being a full time AFL ruckman. A player we pick up at mid first round at the highest unless we get really lucky somehow will take anything from 2-4 years to be ready.

Anyone who suggests that Holland or Lonie should be included are simply dilusional and have not seen them play in the twos. Lonie was average at best yesterday in a team that belted the living suitcase out of the opposition. Holland kicked 2 nice goals in one quarter but otherwise looked slow and out of touch (as you'd expect having missed about 10 weeks).

Also, why are so many people intent on dropping Brown? He simply has to play against Hawthorn. Although he was quiet on Saturday possession wise I cant recall him getting beaten in too many one on ones. Who was it that people are saying beat him? It wasn't Lloyd who towelled up Wakelin, it wasn't Reimers who towelled up Tarks, it wasn't Monfries who towelled up Heater, or Jetta who towelled up Johno.

By the way, the same goes for Maxwell who was one of our better players and at least seemed to be having a red hot go.

WITH YOU 100 PERCENT. They don't go to the VFL games and just listen to the radio. You never get a proper idea of the game coz you only hear what the commenters want you to hear. Or for that matter the rubbish printed in the paper. Can't honestly believe the article by Chris Mitchell. "Licura controlled the midfield with 25 possessions". What was Stanners 35-37 possessions and then the mention of Brodie Holland looking sharp OMG he was terrible. Get it and kick it. Nothing changed there.
Everyone is entitled to their opinions but please do not make total fools of your selves especially when you haven't been to the games and seen first hand.

Johnson has to be dropped IMO. He's lucky to have survived in the seniors as long as he has. Fraser did a little rucking in the VFL, so that's probably a sign that he'll come in for Wood.

The interesting one is Dawes. I think they'll play him on Friday, but there might have to be some positional shuffling to make it work, cos I dunno if a forward line of Dawes, Cloke, Anthony, and Medhurst is gonna work. My tip is that Anthony will play back and Wakelin will be omitted. (I'd prefer Maxwell's omission, but it's not gonna happen, particularly after he played a decent game on Saturday).

So I'd guess:

OUT: Johnson, Wood, Wakelin
IN: Stanley, Fraser, Dawes

Goldsack did some terrific stuff in the second half of the VFL match, so he might be a chance. And Toovey played a pretty good game too as a tagger on Lovett, so if they want a negating mid, he's the obvious option.
