A lot of thought will have to go into selection this week. De Goey is a certain addition, and one small forward at least will come in. I'm not sure if it will be Elliott or Fasolo, but probably not both. Stephenson will make way for one, but candidates for the second are scarce, since everyone else actually contributed on Friday. Cases can be made to retain all of the smaller players, but one will have to go. My guess would be Crocker, but he would be justified in felling a bit aggrieved.
The height of Adelaide's forward line must be a concern. We look a bit light on for big defenders, but the trend these days seems to be to play a mix of middling tall types, so perhaps we will go with Scharenberg and Langdon to cope in an undersized way.
So I expect only 2 changes, but there could be 4, with Fasolo, Elliott, De Goey and perhaps Mihocek all coming in.
And of course, it may be wet.

Dagoey in for Crocker.
Elliott needs another week in the 2nds and then that gives him 9 day's to recover for anzac day, also give stephenson another week which he hasn't been terrible.
i'd then look at bringing in the week later because of the short week Fasolo

Too conservative. We need two to come in this week.

So cox in....even in the wet?

Is it supposed to be wet?

Having been keeping abreast of Adelaide's weather I must say.

I guess if it's wet then throw Cox into the omissions and bring Mayne in. Stuff it.

yeah but two guys coming back from injury, interstate trip. and then also noteing that you need to take someone's place and given we won it's harder to displace someone from the team.

Langon will be need for his height against the crows. leaving Brown / aish who both played well and stephenson who i'd like to give another chance playing on perhaps seedman as a defensive forward.

They have been coming back from injury for months....been managed very conservatively. I have never heard of anybody getting injured on a 45 minute flight to Adelaide so travel is irrelevant.

Agree keeping defence the same

But De Goey has to come in and so should one of Elliott or Fasolo.

Outs should be Stephenson and Crocker. Alternatives to Crocker might be Phillips or Brown but Stephenson looks cooked for the time being.

Think we should give Pendles a similar role to what he did with Cripps, set him for Gibbs.

Also we need to put work into Laird across HB, give Aish a job on him.

If we can lock down on those two, we would be a good chance.

Also if wet, be interesting if they potentially bring Wills in for a big body around the contest...with his VFL form it would be great to bring in DeGoey, Elliott and Wills for Stephenson, Crocker and Cox.

We have a great history of debuts at Adelaide and Anzac Day

Adelaide
Really don't for the size up forward takes lots of big grabs
Normally movement is the key to their success
Large bodies mids and bucks hinted we need a couple more than the skipper
Ins
Mihochek to take Jenkins
Dunn walker
Howe McGovern
Outs
Langdon. , brown, crocker
Ins
Mihochek, seir. Degoey

Like to see Stephenson go again and rest Anzac Day
Essendon
Out
Stephenson Maynard
Ins
Wills elliott
Gotta get bigger around the pill

Adeiaide aren't the same team at the moment. They struggled for over a half against that terrible St Kilda team. They lost to Essendon and look how bad they have been. I'm surprised they actually beat Richmond. They are missing both Crouch brothers, Brodie Smith, and Charlie Cameron and Jake Lever have left the building. Eddie Betts is in terrible form. Walker isn't doing a great deal either. Sloane is playing very average too. Their first 3 games, only Laird and Gibbs have really kept them in games. Hopefully Bucks and the coaching staff look to expose this. Shut down Laird and Gibbs and we have a great chance of winning the game. Bringing in Elliot and suddenly our forward line looks nice with Cox and Reid crashing packs with guys like Elliot and Varcoe to crumb it out.

crows arent in form atm.. we are just kinda cruising along ... our game plan looks a bit slow. we were lucky against st kilda, their crappy kicking lost them the game.

we are ripe for the pickings imho and collingwood could do it. but you will have to kick at least 100 points to win which is very possible since you seem to like to run alot and play fast football from what i can see.

our injuries are kinda killing us, but i have to correct u on slaone, he isnt really playing average, hes playing injured. his stats on the weekend show he spent the least amount of time on the ground. we cant afford him out so we play him as much as we can.

laird is the one you have to shut down... and also seedsman imho, i think seeds will have another big game this weekend.

Whats DeGoeys current status in regards to his ban? Is he still banished or have we not heard if he is avaliable for AFL selection?
:think:Good to go

Post VFL game no changes to my substitutions.

JDG is a certainty for me. Is big enough to be played as a KPP if Reid is required back. Fits in with current selection criteria, able to play forward with stints in the midfield. Also an absolute gun young player.

Elliot for me as the additional small forward, just looked more up and about in the VFL game than Fas. Fas looked a little stale to be honest. I thought Elliot was very active around the ground.

Big important game. if CFC somehow manage to knock off the Crows and then rattle Essendons cage, that's enough to resuscitate final aspirations.

Reckon if wet we would be even more likely to drop Stephenson for the Crows game and bring in a bigger body.

But he will definitely play either ANZAC or against Richmond, as I think quite a few players may only play one of those two.

Treloar if sore, Reid, Elliott I can't see them being played in both

Just checked and a high chance of rain friday night. Hope they take it into consideration when they select the side.

I would not play Cox on a Wet Night

Varcoe stepped up, good to see

Actually got to the feet of Cox in some of those marking contests which sadly we don't see too often.
