I'd go with Dunn - Jenkins. Howe - Tex. Langdon- Lynch and Shaz - Macgovern. I reckon we can cover them.

Unless Reid goes back I think Dunn and Schaz will get Jenkins and Tex.

We have a long break after the crows game. If we think we are a chance win play Elliott, if not give him another week in the 2nds and have him right for Anzac Day. Crows are missing a few so could be gettable. Play our best side I say.

They are missing a few but still looked like they're the yardstick against the Saints.

I see Fasolo laid 5 tackles in the VFL win which was the same as de Goey and 4 more than Elliott.

The highest amount of tackles for any Collingwood player was 6.

He also finished top 5 for DT points.

It would appear the judgement that he didn't apply enough forward pressure on Saturday was overstated as is the use of it as justification to keep him out of the side for Adelaide.

He generates shots on goal, he's in our best 22 and we aren't playing Carlton.

How about we just select him.

Elliot all but a certain starter according the HUN.

Very confident going into this.
We may not have much skill but we don’t need it against Adelaide who hate the contest and squirm under pressure.
Gibbs and Sloane are pretty soft and won’t stand a chance against De Goey and Adams one on one.

It’s their show ponies in Betts and Walker who average about 5 touches a game that we need to get worry about.

Buckley played a game in the reserves once coming back from an injury lay off.

ONE GAME.

Elliott isn't Buckley but he's in our top handful of players so for mine if he's pulled up well after his return performance in the VFL then he's straight in.

If your take out all the emotion from selection then it's pretty easy to me.

de Goey is better than young Stephenson, Elliott is better than an unlucky Crocker while Fasolo is a better forward than Varcoe.

You could substitute Brown for Varcoe or Crocker if you like but he just played his best game for the club so far so I'd keep him in.

Good problem to have with some clear best 22 players to come back. Always going to be some unlucky players but we have to pick the 22 best players available it's as simple as that.
Elliott, Fasolo and DeGoey are all best 22.
We are a huge chance Friday night if these players come in.

OUTS: Stephenson, Crocker, Phillips
INS: Elliott, Fasolo, DeGoey

Elliott for Stephenson - the kid hasn't been bad but would like to see him get a run in the 2's through the midfield. Elliott is one of our most important players. Easy decision.

Fasolo for Crocker - this is a clear upgrade.

DeGoey for Phillips - another clear upgrade and I don't see Phillips as a best 22 player.

Brown stays in for mine. Has more upside than Phillips IMO and he is pretty clean with ball in hand. Like him through the midfield.

B - Maynard Dunn Sharenberg
HB - Murray Howe Crisp
C - Treloar Pendlebury Sidebottom
HF - DeGoey WHE Thomas
F - Elliott Reid Fasolo
R - Grundy Adams Aish
INT - Varcoe Cox Langdon Brown

Adeiaide aren't the same team at the moment. They struggled for over a half against that terrible St Kilda team. They lost to Essendon and look how bad they have been. I'm surprised they actually beat Richmond. They are missing both Crouch brothers, Brodie Smith, and Charlie Cameron and Jake Lever have left the building. Eddie Betts is in terrible form. Walker isn't doing a great deal either. Sloane is playing very average too. Their first 3 games, only Laird and Gibbs have really kept them in games. Hopefully Bucks and the coaching staff look to expose this. Shut down Laird and Gibbs and we have a great chance of winning the game. Bringing in Elliot and suddenly our forward line looks nice with Cox and Reid crashing packs with guys like Elliot and Varcoe to crumb it out.
I'm not getting caught up in the hype of our first win but I do give us a chance against Adelaide if the good Collingwood turn up. Would love to see both Elliott and JDG in the team both are too good for the Magoos.

I'm thinking the club will want to list manage over the ANZAC Day period better than it did last year, when we were beaten by Carlton at the end of that period of three matches in two weeks (thereabouts).

Hoping to see plenty of changes in the next few rounds, especially for the Richmond game which is four games after ANZAC Day. VFL form very important for that. Hoping to see the likes of Wills Sier Mayne McLarty Daicos and Wells all come into consideration over the next 2-4 matches (as well as Elliot De Goey and Fasolo) so that we dont suffer the season and morale killing fade loss of 2017 against Carlton.
Need some big bodies against Richmond, guys that can stick tackles, Wills comes to mind. Would love to see a few Dusty fend fails.

That’s a killer side. Much stronger head to head than the Camry Cows.

A lot of thought will have to go into selection this week. De Goey is a certain addition, and one small forward at least will come in. I'm not sure if it will be Elliott or Fasolo, but probably not both. Stephenson will make way for one, but candidates for the second are scarce, since everyone else actually contributed on Friday. Cases can be made to retain all of the smaller players, but one will have to go. My guess would be Crocker, but he would be justified in felling a bit aggrieved.
The height of Adelaide's forward line must be a concern. We look a bit light on for big defenders, but the trend these days seems to be to play a mix of middling tall types, so perhaps we will go with Scharenberg and Langdon to cope in an undersized way.
So I expect only 2 changes, but there could be 4, with Fasolo, Elliott, De Goey and perhaps Mihocek all coming in.
And of course, it may be wet.
It would be handy if either Sahrenberg or Langdon had some tricks up forward, pretty easy to slide Ben Reid back if needed.

Out:
Stephenson (He will be really out of his depth this week. Adelaide have improved in contested footy from last season)
Crocker (Gets replaced by a better player in the reserves, enough said)
In:
Elliot
Fasolo

I am tempted to bring De Goey back, but he is unlikely for mine given he'd a soft tissue injury and back from limited playing regime in a big game, I am going to err on the side of caution. Bring him in against Essendon.

Elliot is the exception to this rule and should be cherry ripe. He looks like he's got another level to get to in his footy, hopefully with a good hit-out in the VFL he will add his class to the team this week.

And Phillips, while not kicking particularly well this week gets a lot of the ball. Would need to have another down game to be dropped I think. Varcoe would be close to getting a rest, but his pace is important.
