Very interesing Adelaides forward line consists of Walker, Jenkins, Lynch and Fogarty. The shortest player out of the 4 mentioned is Lynch and he is 192cm, with the prediction of rain that is a more questionable selection than us leaving Cox in.

Thoughts?

Still not expecting to win but i would not be shocked if we get within 3 goals.

With respect we play some of our best footy in the wet and our coaching staff know it. I sat in the drenching rain at Adelaide Oval last year and couldn't believe how well we played in the Fremantle game, winning by over 100 points. Yes only freo, but still, our skills were awesome in such wet conditions.

Congratulations

I get the Wills call, based on a blinder last week.
Not sure how bringing in Daicos is earned yet?
Who would you drop for Wills?
Varcoe. Wills could handle the clearance stuff, to allow Treloar to play more of the varcoe role, which he excels at & is easier on groin...

He might get a game when he finally does the hard work.

Is this your opinion or the football club’s opinion? (I haven’t seen it mentioned outside of this forum that Fasolo is not a hard worker)

Edit: just saw your subsequent post about the tweet.

Imo we will be lucky to kick as straight as we did last week with the same forward line and outside of last year fasolo is a pretty decent kick.

I don’t entirely buy the lack of effort argument for fasolo as being the reason for him not playing. He was always picked for 3-4 years and all of a sudden he stops doing what gets him picked? maybe he has other issues.

Geez. Fasolo, Elliott... VERY stiff, especially when we seem to struggle for goals.

Won't get the luxuries we had last week. Adelaide are a completely different level to Carlton.

I fear we are in for a bit of a shock here.

Fas is like a Melbourne cup horse, takes time to hit his stride, he's a lazy **** too

given the form of our small forwards like thomas and hoskin-elliot, it doesnt surprise me that he didnt make the cut. I would rather play the young guys or even daicos over him.
Elliot would have got the nod, but yet again we are plauged with injuries to our highest scoring forward .... the woes continue

Are they still using rock music during training? If so it's a bad idea, i've recently been researching training methods for athletics, one area of note was the affects of adrenaline on the body, adrenaline is a hell of a thing, it makes you bigger/faster/stronger (so to speak).

Athletics coaches know this, it's why they never, ever train an athlete over his pet distance, they work on around 60% or less of the pet distance, the athlete will only run his pet distance (sprint distance i should've added) at an actual meet.

Music is well known for producing adrenaline in the human body, make of this what you will.

With respect, your win over Fremantle was 1 of 8 beltings by over 40 points they suffered last year. As we all now know, your team's awesome skills go out the window as soon as there is any pressure applied.

They did in the GF but not in many games where 'pressure was applied.' Anyway, was just replying to a post questioning why we would've brought in Fogarty and offering a reason as to why.

How is Eliott stiff.. he's injured.

We won't be. They won't beat us by much.

Unfortunately I didn't get the late mail on that one....
Didn't check the injury report this week.

Made of glass that bloke .

With their tall forward line I wouldn't be surprised if Reid went back at times and we played Cox as the lone tall up forward with a range of smalls.
Dunn goes to Walker and I think the others are too small for Jenkins he is a big unit. He mauled Rance the other week so maybe Reid is a big enough body...?

Disappointed Fas didn't come in and also disappointed on the injuries to Adams and Elliott but I still believe we are a good chance tonight. Game will be won in the midfield and Pendles, Treloar, Sidebottom, DeGoey and Aish have to have good games for us to win.

If it pisses down with rain I wouldn't be surprised with a late change.

B - Maynard Dunn Sharenberg
HB - Crisp Howe Murray
C - WHE Pendlebury Sidebottom
HF - DeGoey Reid Thomas
F - Varcoe Cox Crocker
R - Grundy Treloar Aish
INT - Brown Phillips Langdon Stephenson

What affect does stoner rock have?

If we were about to play finals and Crocker had been better all season I'd understand your point though.
If finals? And Id pick Fasolo.

It’s all relative.

Though you are right in one sense, Fasolo is the better player, and Crocker has done ok but not earth shattering.

But I’m overall happy for Crocker at this stage.

I dont think we will radically adjust the defensive line up. Our defence has stood up well so far and has been very stable with the six out there (plus Moore) being locks for all three games. They will go with whats been working despite giving away some height.

Agree Cox might go out if its bucketing down but on balance I think they will stick with him and ask him to be competitive and crash a few packs.
