Crocker makes way for one of Fas/Billy, that is the easiest decision the selection committee will have all year,

Stephenson for JDG another no brainer.

The only headache will be if they want to bring both Billy and Fas in, then one of Varcoe/Brown will be looked at.

Adelaide with have a few handy ins from the team we drew with last year: Betts, Gibbs, and Fogarty (maybe) are the most significant. However, their 'outs' seem just as significant: Brodie Smith, Matt Crouch, and Charlie Cameron among a few others. Both Smith and Crouch were probably Adelaide's best that day.

We didn't have Pendles in the team last time around, while Varcoe, Murray, Aish and Cox are also notable inclusions. On the other hand, we've lost Wells (who had a good day), Goldsack, Moore, and a couple of others.

The game will be won or lost in more than one part of the ground, but I think that we can take control of the midfield so long as we shut down Gibbs' clearance work. If we can do that, and if our mids can spread and link and be creative when kicking into our forward line, then this will be a winnable game.

Adeiaide aren't the same team at the moment. They struggled for over a half against that terrible St Kilda team. They lost to Essendon and look how bad they have been. I'm surprised they actually beat Richmond. They are missing both Crouch brothers, Brodie Smith, and Charlie Cameron and Jake Lever have left the building. Eddie Betts is in terrible form. Walker isn't doing a great deal either. Sloane is playing very average too. Their first 3 games, only Laird and Gibbs have really kept them in games. Hopefully Bucks and the coaching staff look to expose this. Shut down Laird and Gibbs and we have a great chance of winning the game. Bringing in Elliot and suddenly our forward line looks nice with Cox and Reid crashing packs with guys like Elliot and Varcoe to crumb it out.

Greenwood being worthy of a mention here. Utterly clamped Sloane that day.

Good call. Greenwood is a forgotten man, by me at least, but we'll be remembering him fondly on Friday night if Sloane gets off the leash.

Sloane isn't 100% fit at the moment, only played 64% game time on the weekend and pretty much sat on the bench the whole last quarter. Could have been precautionary but he is being managed at the moment.

On a side note, Seedsman has been in good form this year.

We either go hell for leather and try and win this or Save DeGoey, Elliot, Fasolo for anzac day fresh as
ANZAC Day is what 11 days after the Adelaide game, the entire side will be fresh and raring to go for ANZAC day.

The challenge will be guys who are struggling to get up, or recovering from injury, may be juggled as we take on Richmond 4 days after ANZAC.

A guy like Elliott may only play one of Essendon and Richmond...but should def play against Adelaide.

Haha I apologise kept thinking Anzac Day was on the Wednesday following aka 5 days later.

Yep we'd be crazy not to throw the boys in with a huge break

You are correct re St Kilda, we were ugly for 2.5 quarters and only a burst for 1 quarter was the difference at the end with an 8 goal win. If the upcoming game was at the MCG, I think you guys would be a real chance here as we are still getting going, although Tex to his credit has 7 goals in the 2 games he has played and Jenkins is looking a bit more motivated and Eddie got back on track with 3 goals on the weekend. You guys have a strong midfield and a great ruckman so i think it will be fairly even in there, but maybe the difference will be that if both teams get the ball inside forward 50 a similar number of times, the crows are likely to kick the bigger score with their forward line, particularly at home. But I think it will be a close game

Just saying, Mayne has had a solid month in the magoos.
Scary, but true.

As long as he doesnt play forward I would not be opposed to him coming in. Might be a good run with /tagger type, replacing Brown or Phillips.

But suspect after a good win they will want to keep the changes to a minimum ....two.....with De Goey and one of Elliot/Fasolo as compulsory ins and no other changes.

Pretty good analysis, the bolded statement sums it up for me.
Crows to win by a narrow margin hope i'm wrong.

Wells killed us at that MCG drawn game - Surely he got the 3 votes that day

He did get the votes, along with Taylor Adams (2) and Matt Crouch (1).

How is Sloane travelling? I didn't watch the Saints game but he looked fine the week before.

I'm thinking the club will want to list manage over the ANZAC Day period better than it did last year, when we were beaten by Carlton at the end of that period of three matches in two weeks (thereabouts).

Hoping to see plenty of changes in the next few rounds, especially for the Richmond game which is four games after ANZAC Day. VFL form very important for that. Hoping to see the likes of Wills Sier Mayne McLarty Daicos and Wells all come into consideration over the next 2-4 matches (as well as Elliot De Goey and Fasolo) so that we dont suffer the season and morale killing fade loss of 2017 against Carlton.

Just checked the weather for Friday and it seems that there is a high probability of rain. Cox omitted or give him another chance?

Given its night and Adelaide (always seems slippery there at night) I'd say omit him . But only at the last minute. Fly McLarty over.

I know this won't happen but in my ideal scenario:

In: Elliott, Fasolo, De Goey, Daicos, Mihochek
Out: Crocker, Phillips, Maynard, Langdon, Brown (unlucky, I don't mind him, needs more game time)
