How can you justify going back to Blair? It’s clear favouritism.

I've had plenty of love for Blair. He's a trooper whose toil rarely gets its deserved appreciation, and he's now toiling well enough in the VFL. But even there his work rate doesn't always make up for the ineffectiveness of his disposals.

I don't think Daicos has travelled to Adelaide, but I think he'd be a better option now than Blair. He was a much more clean, precise, and damaging player than Blair on the weekend. He hustled, and his instinct was to attack (i.e. kick forward). Even if last weekend's opposition was a bit underwhelming, Daicos put his hand up the highest I think deserves a chance before Blair to replicate his good work at senior level. I'd be excited if Daics can give us a similar output to Callum Brown.

So would I. Just think that this game isn’t suited for him. Blair will probably be the emergency in case that want to take Cox out.

I am trying to think of past games where Buckley's supposed 'love child' kept better players out of the team.

I seem to recall that he played mostly when injuries prevented our best 22 out there.

I too don't get this 'Blair whipping/Buck's boy'.

In saying that, I thought Mayne and Daicos out of the VFL game also played well. Not Sier and Wills though for recall - one more week.

I've seen Cox mark the ball just fine in the wet at VFL, so I'm not convinced that some slippery conditions should omit him. He may well clunk a few (which would be all the more precious if it does rain), he may well draw some free kicks, and he will still give Grundy a handy chop-out in the ruck against Jacobs.

It doesn't necessarily work that way, though. Otherwise from all reports Oxley should be coming in.

We know Blair isn't good enough now. We know Blair will never be good enough.

We don't know if (as an example) Wills is good enough now. We don't know if Wills will be good enough in the future.

We are not winning the flag this year.

I know who I would pick.

Blair is part of the past, if a mid was to come in it should of been Sier or Wills not Blair.

A like for the quaint sentence! Of course, he vexes many of us no matter what the weather.

I understand the sentiment, too, but we've invested a lot in Cox for this season and we need to give him every chance of replicating his VFL form in the seniors.

I'd agree with this. Wills seems to be labouring for fitness, good at the stoppages but not so much coverage around the ground. I think that Sier did some reasonable work in the forward line, but plenty of room for improvement.

I like it. But Sier over Wills? I think it might be a bit early on Sier. It's the only good game he's played in three years for us. I do apreciate the thought about adding class where possible.

I just think we need to start exposing some of these 3rd year players, Sier has a bit of toe and better kick then Wills.

Wills strong around the ball but falls off there after and is another one paced type but has good hands.

Adams for the last 2 weeks has spent major minutes forward so the midfield has already been functioning without him.
Not sure we need a like for like replacement in the pure sense of inside mid feeder in Wills. I know Wills had some ok games 2 years ago but I think Seir has a higher ceiling when it all clicks.

I think the only certainties are De Goey in and Stephenson and Adams out

Other ins could be any of Fasolo Wills Mayne Sier or even Daicos as a smokie
