Not quite sure what you mean.

But I’m not as fussed on Fasolo this way or that. I’m really dirty Elliott isn’t as healthy as we’d like.
He’s a difference maker.

But if the Fas does the hard work he’ll be back in.

They are both very good when fit but Elliott is a higher talent true, difference is Elliott is consistantly impacting the game on a weekly basis where as Faz runs hot and cold.

But Faz is too good to be biding his time in the VFL while the senior team is missing 80% of its fwd line and can't buy goals with a fist full of 100s most weeks.

Apparently the word of a media employee on Twitter is worth more than the word of the coach these days.

Honestly, it seems like this is all code for Fas not being in the right head space to cope with the pressure of senior footy atm.
Almost certainly the case. I drunkenly asked a senior Collingwood player who might come back into the side this week. He said Elliott and JDG and completely ruled out Fasolo. Made it sound like it could be a while too.

Fair points.

You’ve nailed it, Fasolo runs hot and cold.
But has talent.

Something isn’t quite there with him, might be more to it.

It doesn't necessarily work that way, though. Otherwise from all reports Oxley should be coming in.

We know Blair isn't good enough now. We know Blair will never be good enough.

We don't know if (as an example) Wills is good enough now. We don't know if Wills will be good enough in the future.

We are not winning the flag this year.

I know who I would pick.

I'd imagine Ox would be under greater consideration if there was a spot in defence but it's been a pretty consistent group thus far. Only change back there has been Schaz for the injured Moore.

As for picking a side, I'm happy that they pick the best side to win this weeks game. That shouldn't be mutually exclusive from longer term development where possible but that development aspect should never deminish your chance of winning.

Hot and cold is so right. A real head scratcher.

There was an instance in the last quarter that I thought he didn't chase enough, then next minute he tackled about three players in a row.

:thumbsu: to the Mod who is cleaning up.

It is good to get a bit of consistency in the AFL team for a change.

DeGoey in is great news.

Be great if we get to a point where guys like Daicos, Sier, Wills even Fasolo are demanding an AFL spot due to a consistent run of strong VFL performances.

Seedsman was a lot more mature body then Stephenson. His a good kid but he is not ready to be playing ones and his output is testament to that

Club Disagrees with his Defensive Side of his Game

Go DeGoey pay back the faithful put your stamp on the game we know you can.Stephenson take your chance mate hope we get up I still think we may be a sneaky chance

You can't just play a player because he is a kid and needs games.

The most important part of developing a young player IMO is VFL and work their way up. You don't want complacency or you end up like Melbourne. Crap.

They don't have the culture to be successful because of that.

So you Believe every Player with 0 Games needs at least Month or 2 in the VFL?

Blair has proved time and time again that he is a liability in 4/5 games. So really there’s an 80% chance that he’ll be a liability and a 20% chance he’ll have a good game. With those odds I’d rather give a younger player with a higher ceiling an opportunity.
and 1 that actually has a Future at the Club.

Stephenson could be a Very Good Player where Blair is a VFL Player

I didn’t mean kick in sorry, I meant more who would u want to rebound the footy outside 50

The question again was
Best kick between
- Murray
- sharenberg
- aish

Depends IF you want Speed or Good Ball Use

So after 3 games not one player has been dropped based on form. All changes due to injury/suspension.

Forms been pretty good apart from round one. And one game in slippery conditions is not a sample set.

The only player who genuinely could have been dropped this week might have been Stephenson and clearly they are taking a development view on him. Others mentioned on this board like Crocker Phillips Maynard Langdon would have been able to consider themselves unlucky to be dropped.

Anyone thinking Mayne late in for Cox depending on weather? Really thought this would be Chris' redemption game.

I'd be playing Cox either way. A wet game generally means more stoppages and I'd much prefer Cox offering that secondary ruck support than Pendles or Reid. With the Crouch boys out we need to maximize any midfield advantage and giving Jenkins a free ride doesn't do that.

Just on the Fasolo v Stephenson debate, they aren’t exactly a like for like change. And if you look at it we don’t really have a like for like for both Elliott and Fasolo at the moment. Really Crocker is the only one I can think of currently playing, that would be. And the forward structure the last two weeks has been far more effective.

It is possible that there isn’t room for both of Fasolo and Elliott (or similar type players) in the current forward line set up and Crocker has possession of the position at the moment (and is doing a good job IMO).

Does Hawthorn decide between Breust and Rioli or Gunston and Roughead?

It isn't a question of one or the other when it comes to Elliott and Fasolo like some are strangely alluding to as both are still comfortably in our best 6 forward threats on our list.

Based on the last 2 seasons Fasolo is No.2.

Bruest is a lead up forward. Rioli isn't
Roughead is key forward. Gunston isn't.
Elliott and Fasolo are both lead up forwards as is Crocker, which is why they all can't fit in the side.
