Or you could ask Mundy and Peake. No problem with them getting games despite average form. Plenty of opportunity to play through it and come out the other side. The difference with Murphy is that he has been consistant in his ordinary-ness and lack of endevour, and for a long while that has included at WAFL level.

Yeah, Murphy hasn't really been mistreated after one average game. He has been consistently average since one decent year in 2006.

Oddly enough, looking at his stats, he is still getting about as much of the ball as in 2006, its just that in 2006 he was amazingly accurate with his goal kicking.

Love to know how many Tarrant knockers support Murphy. Both of them can look like they are not interested, and of course Murphy is our home grown Next Big Thing. Plus the legend of Murphy's accuracy (now an innaccurate legend) versus Tarrant's mucky shooting for goal is a big contrast.

Give a break. Look at any other team in the AFL and tell me that if players ave'it, then they ave'it, if they don't then they don't.

So many players have had ample opportunity to stamp their mark on the AFL at Freo and unfortunately they have not. But hey, lets give them one more game they will come good, I promise they will.

It is more like if we win then everyone played fantastic and everyone deserves another game, regardless because "I like them" and they "showed a bit", depite actually having a fairly average game.

Campbell is not a match winner at this stage. We need him kicking 6 in the WAFL. We need Murphy kicking 6 in the WAFL. If not then they are just another player that will get a handful of forward possessions that show glimpses.

You're forgetting that he 'crashes packs!' and he's 'hard at it!' that's what wins you games of footy. It has nothing to do with skill, smarts, ability, timing, application etc.

You don't have to get the ball, take marks or kick goals as long as you 'show a bit of aggro'.

I don't see why people keep asking to bring Murphy back into the team. Murphy is currently struggling to make an impact at WAFL level. Campbell on the other hand had been in better form in the WAFL and deserves to be given an opportunity first. Campbell also chases harder and has a physical presence in the forward line.

So what you're saying is that he is a 'Ryan Murphy' with the bonus of crashing packs and being hard at it.

Not really, I was highlighting the fact that he gets overrated simply because he looks like one day he might kill someone.

Both have been less than impressive in the WAFL this season. It will be interesting to see how Taz does this week, he'll either set the standard for what an AFL grade forward should be doing, or give some more amunition to all his critics.

As amusing as that would be, with all the footy's and bodies flying over the boundary, crowd numbers would be way down and crowd compensation claims would be way up.
