I don't think it's just about speed. IMO it's also about intensity of effort ie. mental toughness and wanting the ball more than your opponent.
Yep, you don't get killed in the clearances because you're slow.

OUT: Tarrent Solomon J.Carr Bell Thornton Sandilands
IN: Foster Hinkley Drum Obrein Murphy Mi Johnson
EM Ibbotson
Grover should be one to look at as well. has been beaten all year. Id rather Bradley than him if he play another sh.t game next week.
Today Terry Wallace said that this game is a running game no need for key position players. As long as you can run the rest will pay off. We need youth. We need players who can run. Just about all these players have been performing since round one a deserve a shot.

I wouldnt disagree with what you said.
Its time to rid the club of the culture. If Harvs doesnt take the broom out the players will end up sweeping him out.
You mean the midfield that was a worry two years ago? The one that could have done well to have a young speedster in it, rather than a forward who looks closer to retirement than a premiership? But instead we traded a high pick, in a super draft, for a hack.
Great.

Tarrant has to go. Just cannot defend the indefensible anymore.
Anyone who jeered Tarrant at the game should be ashamed... anyone who jeers him on here hasn't got a clue...
Taz was fantastic early, one of the only guys other than McPharlin having a real hot go. He drifted out of the game last 2nd and in the 3rd coz we simply didn't have control of the ball and hardly got it down there. And when we did the delivery was ****house. Plus Taz gets absolutely mauled by defenders week in, week out and gets nothing from the umpires. He deserved 2-3 frees again today.
Our problem is - and always has been - through the midfield. Most of our midfielders were slow, had no intensity, didn't run hard offensively or defensively and didn't apply enough pressure around contests.
Other than the first 2 minutes, Peake showed again why he is not worth a game.
My midfield analysis from TV:
Peake - crapola. Has no heart, won't chase and is as weak as piss.
Crowley - decent. looked more of a midfielder than his teammates.
Schammer - crap today. Always knocked off his feet, always fumbles.
Des - poor game. hurt his knee though.
Solly - one of our best even though he was knocked out.
Belly - Solid.
Mundy - average. Continues to be weak in contests.
Pav - how bad would we have been without him?
Palmer - bad day at the office. Appeared too cocky at times.
Josh - Very crap!!! Didn't look interested.
Sandi - Tried hard but was killed around ground. Ruck work was decent.
Warnock - Average day by the beanpole.
Duffield - said it before - not a backman! Crap but better when on the ball
Farmer - the only one to show energy in the centre square.
Gilmore - Didn't work in the ruck. Tried hard in various positions.
Mayne - great. Tried hard all day and always gives his all.
On a side note - Thornton was crap too. Dodd and Grover were average.
What does that mean?
Belly, Pav, Farmer, Mayne and Crowley were our best through the middle.
Belly is getting past it and Pav, Farmer and Mayne are forwards. Crowley is the only middle tier player to show any effort/skill/poise.
So?
MUST have changes through the middle. MUST have players who are desperate, decently skilled and have decent pace.
OUT: Peake, Schammer, Duff. (Des - injured?). If Josh Carr plays like that again, drop him.
INS: Mi Johnson for Thornton. And any of Foster, O'Brien, Ibbotson. Also one of McManus and Ma Johnson could be a chance.
I would also try to slot Drum into the team.
Touche.
Tarrant was woeful. Put him on a wing in the last quarter and he was practically running away from it. Touched it twice and turned it over both times. There is way more upside to playing Murphy. Pav looks better without Tarrant in the setup. Marcus Drum must play.
Our midfield was absolutely trounced at the centre bounces and their runners cut us to pieces. Must retool the midfield.
At least Harves mixed it up a bit with the centre setups.
Tarrant couldnt mark the ball when it landed 5 feet infront of him. He actually worked hard today
Brett Peake on the other hand. That is terminate his contract now type of stuff really. Reminds me of Callum Chambers so much its scary
It is a little sad ive been to all 3 dockers home games tho. Maybe I should buy a scarf
What gets my goat is the pathetic bunch of people that have a hidden agenda for their favourite WAFL players and try to rally against particular people. Get over yourselves you don't help this club one iota.
If you watched that game you would have noticed :
1. Nobody did enough (except Pavlich)
2. We refused to play man on man when we clearly lost all over the ground.
3. Nobody was holding tackles (Wiz included).
4. Delivery across the ground was just woeful
5. Soloman and McPharlin dropped chest marks
6. The game plan sucked a$$ - honestly lets do something different and come out to the right up the wing to the flank and then maybe centre it? Very hard to work that game plan out.
7. I have supported Mundy for ever and thought criticism was unjustified - was I let down today. When Solly got run down he did not even think to shephard. He was slow and did not try.
8. I did not see any of the mids doing stuff all.
But lets do the usual Peake and Tarrant are the reason we lost thread. Let me tell you Peake was much better than quite a few mids, and Tarrant did not shy from one contest, was not out-marked once and had to put himself in harms way just to make a 50/50 at times. Not saying they were good, becaause that would be untrue, NOBODY was good.
And play the card Murphy only played bad in the WAFL because his confidence is gone. Would Tarrant get that luxury. I think not.
Anyway I look forward to quite a few rotations. And for everyone that got their wish that Matt Carr get dropped - can you explain to me who comes close to him as a shut down player?
There is no way, as long as my arse points to the ground that Peake is an AFL footballer...
aren't you swinging it @ harvey ? Bring Back CC??swing it harvs

I was not booing him, I'm just pointing out the fact that he hasn't performed anywhere near what he should. Hie recent performances warrant targeting him over others. He had 13 disposals and one goal in his first two games and thats after coming off a season where many believed that he hasn't performed at the level he should given that we sold the farm to get him over here.I suppose you were one booing him today.
He got more of the ball than 16 other players despite being a forward and you single him out.
Unbelievable!
Remember, Tarrant cost us three players. Has he really been worth two depth players and a first round pick?
