I agree he should but I dont think this rule applies to Dew. It hasn't so far.
It's a different situation now. The last couple of times he came back we had heaps of injuries and were light on for experience and bigger bodies. got closer to a full squad now and his hammy has proven troublesome.

A half game for BH and slowly build up.

Lewis, crawf and dew in our best 22 when fit so there is going to be someone very unlucky. A good problem to have :thumbsu:

and benny mac:thumbsu:

Croad to take Kosi. Campbell Brown to run with Riewoldt and let him take marks up on the wing

Errr no. They tried that last year and Nick smashed us. Browndog is good but he is not 7 foot tall. They don't ask him to do those oversized jobs this year thankfully. We will put Gilham on one of them then get on these forums next week and bemoan the fact that we only have one decent tall back.

And how goals did he kick on us last time? If browny leads him up to the wing like he did last time who is going to kick all their goals?

Croady seems to take the more mobile talls and Gilly gets the stay-at-home types. (Ruckmen and lazy shits like Kosi) Browny gets second leading tall if there is one.

I think

For those questioning Ossie and Ladson, C'mon, you can't be serious. These guys are vital to our game plan. Ossie, in particular, is a reformed soldier. He does the hard stuff but has really cut down on the stupid stuff. He's also realised that he's a good player, can kick goals and add great defensive pressure to the fwd line. BIG TICK. Not even a query over him being in the best 22.

for the record i dont think anyone was questioning ozzt/ladson, someone misread pessimistic's post

ladson was fantastic in the 1st quarter especially

Birchall's recent poor run has been solely due to the fact that he's getting tagged, which is a new experience for him. It started in the Essendon game when Monfries tagged him, and this week it was Kieren Jack. He'll learn how to adjust.

Exactly. If the other side is sacrificing a player to shut down Birchall it is a win straight away to us.

I'd keep Crawford in depending on how he pulls up. Agree that the surface could play a part but to me he looked more lacking in touch than any real soreness after the game. That isn't a surprise given the amount of games he has missed so if we are able to nurse him through another fifty or sixty minutes game time then I think he will benefit for it.

Murphy had a good game but the match up of the Swan's slower medium talls suited him. Not sure if the Saints have any medium tall forwards of that type that look as though they need minding as much. He may be kept as a reserve tall defender but I would rather see another runner and hard nut in Lewis in his place. Croad, Gilham and Campbell and Taylor dropping back should give us enough height in the back half to be okay.

Tuck out for Bateman if Changa is fully recovered. Murphy out for Lewis. Morton does not deserve to go on one quiet performance. If it came to it, I would drop Young before Morton. Not quite as quick or as long a kick but harder at it, better overhead and just as big a tank and greater long term potential for the side.

Dew a game or two with Box Hill to get fully fit and bring up for the run into the finals.

Regarding letting Reiwoldt take marks up the ground. In one of Hay's early matches, he let Richardson do exactly that. Richo ended up with nearly 20 marks that day.

Richmond lost.

Our weakness this year has actually been smaller forwards. If Guerra can do as good a job on Milne as he did on O'Keefe and we can shut down their run through the middle, we should win this reasonably comfortably.

I'm pretty positive it will go:
IN's:
Bateman, Lewis and Dew
OUTS: Morton (harsh), Tuck and Murphy/Rioli/ (but either doesn't deserve to)

 That makes about as much sense as dropping Williams.

I'm so OVER his name popping up now and then to be dropped. Barring a MASSIVE drop in form, his name should NEVER appear in threads like these EVER again. The amount of forward pressure he creates is unbelievable. I lost count the number of shots on goal we had from his blistering pace/tackles vs Sydney. Just brilliant!

Next person to name him deserves a ban.... :D;)

He kicked 3. We lost by 3. Browny was trying to punch and hitting him on the back of his head.

i dont agree about young. he should definitely stay in. so should osbourne and ladson. i really dont know who id be choosing to sit out

Admittedly I haven't seen much of St Kilda this year, but hasn't Riewoldt been playing closer to goals, if so Croad, imo, should go to him - Gilham to Kosi.

Far from it, up the ground actually.
I should have said I have seen St Kilda once this year. What was all that stuff about him playing closer to goal earlier in the year?

IS he kick chasing or following orders?

Anyway on topic - It's great to be able to say that players are going to be unlucky to miss.

It has been said he is playing more of a Richo role.

you must've been sitting in the wrong stand, ozzie was one of our best and proved again why he is our most improved player this year with his step up in run, disposal, anticipation and hardness

said he didnt see much of it - meaning he didnt get favoured as much as other forwards. What he, laddo and SEWELL did do was first class

Ossie Ladson Taylor Campbell types are out mature foot soldiers which have hepled us progress this year

Im the one saying lets try to get a settled side - just cover injuries

If I get banned for voicing a logical opinion that the majority of this board agrees with, then Bigfooty is truly a joke and I don't know why it even bothers existing. I know Cyril Rioli is a gun, forwardline pressure etc. but still we have a lot of other players that are just as deserving as Cyril Rioli, if he has another couple of quiet games its just silly to not give someone like Dew/Lewis/Whitecross/McGlynn a go instead.

I know your trying to be humorous, but seriously man I'm not having a go at Cyril, its just we have recovered from all outstanding injuries and if you don't play awesome, than its magoos for yous.

Just as deserving as Cyril?..he hasn't put a foot wrong all year...he gets 10 touches a game and they're all class and almost always end in Goals...His work off the ball is Industry best no one in the comp is better off the ball...

WILL NEVER GET DROPPED...accept it...One of a handfull of players that selection is never questioned...Automatic in...WILL NEVER EVER PLAY MAGOOS...bookmark it.

Don't know why you think these guys deserve a go before Rioli. Whitecross especially. Cmon man.

The majority of the board agrees that Cyril Rioli should be dropped? Are you NUTS!

Rioli has been like GOLD this season!

I respect your personal opinion, but if you think the majority of this board thinks he should be dropped to give someone else a go then one of the two of us has been misreading the tea leaves. :)

Out: Crawf (the rest won't hurt) Tuck or Morton (toss up) Either would be unlucky and I would like both to stay to keep up their dev't. But....the two incoming players, if fit, are automatic selections. Murphy is the only other one who would be very stiff if dropped. I think he should stay in coz i think he is regaining the momentum he had prior to the huge courageous knock he copped vs North earlier this year. He is clearly gaining fitness and confidence.

In: Bateman, Lewis (assuming both are 100%. If any doubts, give them another week.)

Spot on. Excellent post:thumbsu:

Disagree with you on the cyril comment, has been awesome this year to date and deserves to still be in the team until he places a few steps wrong.....
