with the greatest respect to Browny but who cares...he's in same camp as simmo where the game passed them by like a shooting star over summer, a HFF that cant kick goals is about as useful as a ruckman that cant mark or win tapouts:eek:

Could be exactly what he needs. A wake up call. Seems to lack a hunger for the contest and maybe a taste of Coburg will fire him up.

simmo dominated the ruck, but made some disposal errors, but then again they all had dispsosal issue with turnovers which cost coburg the game

If he can string some good games together at the burgers - let him get a game, that should be everyones incentive who starts the season on the list.

But to walk back in after one good game? no way. I would like to see a forward line without either pett or morton in it.

Maybe bring in Hislop? It would be great to see a forward line chocka block with guys who want to tackle and win the ball.. next week (with richo resting) - lets go with

Hf: JON Riewoldt Collins**
F: Nahas Schulz Hislop**

let the **Position's be rotated through with Cogs, Pattison, Graham, tambling, cotchin. No one in that forward line (except Schulz perhaps - if he isn't hungry enough) would let the ball dribble out or let a oppostion player take a uncontested mark.

Our team works when everyone WANTS to win their own ball or make a contest.

Sorry Astro ... plenty of tackles and plenty of grunt there, but seriously not enough goal capability between that bunch.
We'd be slaughtered. It ain't like our midfielders are kicking lots of goals either!!

We should play no one over 30 but unfortunately the coach is obliged to pretend we are still a chance so we will hve the usual suspects and in all likelihood the usual hard luck story from Terry.

Cotchin and Cousins are two definite inclusions.
You can guarantee that just about with Coburg having the bye.
Wouldn't be suprised if they brinh in Hughes to replace Richo this week either, even though it is Coburg 2s, he is at least kicking goals, nobody else is

How can you bring in Hughes if he is not doing much with Coburg. He has to learn to get the ball first.

what's all this talk about bringing in Schultz? He did nothing on the weekend.
Out: Richo (rest) and Morton & McCheese(dropped)

If McGuane is injured Thursfield did enough at Coburg to replace him.

Lids can play forward and bring in Cuz and Cotchin. Edwards will be stiff as he had a good game.
If Brown is fit bring him in

At least there is some depth.

Lot's of flailing around & deck shuffling going on in this thread.

Change for the sake of change is not going to do anything except disrupt the team... a team that despite yesterdays loss is actually showing a little bit more form and some structure around the ground.

Our rucks did a good job yesterday and therefore Simmo needs to keep dominating or wait for an injury.

Our back half did not leak a huge total to The Swans and were pretty good under pressure... the only consideration for next week should be on matching up on Bradshaw & Brown. You limit them & Brismane will not kick a winning score.

Our mid-field IMO matched and beat the much vaunted experienced & hard at it Swans engine room... the only change I would consider is a FULLY FIT Cousins or Cotchin. (We saw what happened with peg-leg Richo yesterday... a massive disaster he was played)

So to the forward line which is the area where we lost the game yesterday.

Richo out injured & under pressure is Morton... thats about it IMO.

Play either Schulz or even Hughes out of the square, Riewoldt leading up past the forward 50 & Gus showed enough for me to warrant resting him in the forward pocket.

If we bring in Cousins or Cotchin then they can assist with mid-field rotations with spells in the forward-line and on the bench.

Lids will be able to be used as another target up forward.

At this stage...

Out: Richo & Morton
In: Sarge/Steamer at FF & Cousins/Cotchin (ONLY IF FIT!!!) for mid/half-forward rotations.

McMahon looked very, very sore and proppy at Sydney airport last night.
Out: Richo, MacMahon (inj), Morton and maybe McGuane if he is injured.
In: Cousins, Cotchin, Thursfield (for McGuane if needed), and possibly Edwards, Brown or COnnors to replace McMahon, but I didn't see Coburg play.
Would like JON to stay in. Thought he showed some good signs yesterday and we need to play him to find whether he gets delisted of whether we persevere for another year.

Finally got the chance to watch the game and here are the changes I think will happen:

Out: Richo(inj) Morton JON
In: Cousins Brown Cotchin

These aren't the changes I would make but what I think will happen as TW and co try to save their careers.

fair call, but to be honest - this is not that far off what our forward line was today.

If richo is out - then our two "beat" marking, goal kicking talls are Jack and Jay. Everyone agrees Morton needs a spell in the twos - and i think everyone agrees that Pettifer and Brown are not ready (nor deserve) to be playing seniors yet.

Who else would you include then? Collin's and Nahas in the past fortnight have shown to average two goals a game, JON has managed to kick a goal get get around 4 goal assist in the the past fortnight - and if we rotate the final position with Cotchin, Cousins, Graham, Hislop - we should expect around 2-3 goals from those blokes.

Don't get me wrong - this is hardly my "dream" forward line, but it just seems like the forward line we can throw out their most likely to help manufacter enough goals to beat someone

How anyone could possibly select Hughes is beyond me.

He is performing in the VFL ressies. Let's see him string 3 or 4 good games together in the seniors before we even consider giving him another chance at AFL level.

I hope he does turn it on for Coburg and have a solid second half to the season for us so we can use him as some kind of trade bait.

OUt- Morton( need s a kick upthe bum), Foley-doesn't do enough, JON...please( how bad was his holding the ball in th first quarter??), White-turnovers, crucial free kicks

in- Cousins, cotchin, edwards, Simmonds( play FF)

Edwards was pretty close to the Tigers best. Jake King had a go, Simmonds dominated the ruck but had no comeptition, Pettifer did enough, Cuz got close to 30 touches, Cotchin was quiet but when he had it he was aclass above

Was on here trawling for info on raines. know ill cop abuse for this.

you all seem to be so used to being in tank or 'player development' mode that you dont seem to realise the need to play the absolute best 22 that is available. if you want to win games, which surely is needed in last year of wallaces 5 year plan, then why wouldnt you play the 22 that gives you the best chance to do that.

Even playing at 50% brown is better than JON, Reiwolt and Morton atm. and these players have there performance evaluated so they dont need to be 'taught a lesson'. McMahon the same over Rance adn white. and in this thread lastweek how many were calling for bowdens scalp.

unfortunately at west coast we have the opposite where we struggle to drop 'senior' player that offer us nothing going forward, but will give a better performance for the week.

That is EXACTLY what Richmond does if the players aren't injured.

i dont really want to drop morton as he could kick 5-6 goals in any round but as said needs to be sent a message. schulz to come in unless we take a gamble with vickery or gourdis. atleast one of cotch or cousins needs to come in.
