Not sure

but one thing that I would like peoples thoughts on is the effect on Port or the message that was sent by the Port Hierachary (spelling ??) by dropping Josh Carr for a showdown no less. How much difference did this make to the Port side ?? I even saw Pearce & P. Burger go hard at packs, maybe we need to do something similar

You cant drop an entire team can you? Maric must come in to counter the Bulldogs ruckman.

In: Maric, Knights

Out: Reilly, Cook

Out: Neil Craig (circa 2009)

In: Neil Craig (circa 2004)

The one who wanted his players to start taking a risk during the game.

At this stage I'm thinking the following:

In: Moran, Knights, (Maric)
Out: Walker, Cook, (Griffin)

Bring Moran in to allow us to play Tippet as a more full time forward and to also give us a taller more agile forward target. Cook whilst he hasn't done a heap wrong, to me doesn't quite look ready for AFL footy, tries hard and gets the footy but his composure once he gets it is a bit lacking. Didn't get a heap of footy last year so I don't think it'd hurt him to spend some time in the SANFL. The Griffin/Maric one I'm unsure about, perhaps depending on how Maric goes today, at the moment I'm 50/50 about whether to give Griff another shot or not.

I should have multi-quoted because I also agree with that.

Remember those days? Highest scoring team in the league, we played on to running players not flat footed and we backed our team mates.

We just do not back each other, instead we are so scared of letting the opposition touch the ball we go sideways and backwards.

I don't see overractions.

Look at our wins.

Collingwood was a good one, we did let them back into it but we stormed home and it was round 1 so I will pay that.

Then Freo and Melbourne. Two crap teams which we battled to get over, Melbourne was a bit more convincing but we played ****ing garbage.

Wins can often act as selleys no more gaps but there are massive problems there and our game plan needs to be sorted because not only is it ****ing boring but as soon as we come up against a decent team we get shown up.

As crows98 mentioned, what happened to the game plan when Craig first took over, we played sexy orgasmic footy but now it is boring. I will take a win no matter what but **** we should be beating the lower teams easily, North lost today and played crap in the 3rd but it was so much better to watch. We need to start attacking more.

WE'RE A REBULIDING TEAM.

Yes it wopuls be good to play exciting footy. Woooooooooooo yeah.

But how does getting smashed by 50 points weekly sound?

We don't have the cattle yet. This is well known. Yet the expectaions are to play like Geelong weekly.

I don't want to be a 'yes' man, and I'm as disapointed as anyone as i've spent my Rudd this weekend. But holy crap can everyone relax. No we cannot delist 17 players this year, not can we call for the execution of 7.

I am however, very dissapointed with the intensity and effort of the team.

Playing ‘like Geelong’ and getting ‘Geelong like’ result are very different things. If you expect Geelong like result this year, you are sadly mistaken as that isn’t going to happen but we should no demand to have our team play 'like Geelong'.

Our playing squad is still developing and they have to play their own style of football If that ends up being ‘like Geelong’ so be it but they way we are playing right now, is like no one. It is crap, you can use every excuse known to man as to why we are playing badly but at the end of the day, it will still be crap football.

As you said we are rebuilding (that should not be an excuse as to why we are playing this god awful style of football) but we do have to play within our own parameters. We cannot expect to go and belt everyone by 10 goals but we can expect to see a good display of football whenever we step on the park. And that is not happening this year.

We should be playing a good brand of football where then kids learn. the only think that is happening, we are learning we still rely too much on McLeod, Goodwin and Edwards.

Wall-E that is a cop out. The quality of our cattle doesnt stop guys like McLeod hitting targets. Our senior players have been poor.

The game plan is teaching the kids to second guess themselves, that their first reaction should be backwards and then sideways.

We are 3 points away from having the 3rd worst attack in the league. Thats not purely based on talent, its the way we are playing up the field which is killing it.

Hey I agree on the senior players.

And personally, i'm all for balanciong up the attack defense more and loosing when were outmatched.

I think a couple of 'seniors' should come out just to send a message.

A lot of players are just going through the motions.

in : knights, symes, moran, maric

out: vanberlo, cook, griffen, stevens

stevens out cos you just cant reward pathetic soft displays like that with another game

It is easy for Craig to turn around and say to his players to go one on one, play on at all costs and be more attacking. However, you have to ask if we have the calibre of players to play like that?

I am all for playing a more attacking style and taking the game on, but you going to have to take the good with the bad.

To be more attacking means taking more risks. If you want to see us attack more then as a supporter you are going to have to wear some ugly looking turnovers. I'm talking some kicks that go astray in the middle of the ground, plenty of hospital handballs and getting caught holding the ball when we run into dead ends. With our young list this is going to happen.

Sorry but aren’t we doing that anyway.

Clearly still affected by that hit 3 weeks ago. If a concussion is bad enough for you to miss a week then there is always going to be some lasting affects. Hopefully he can shake it soon and he is definitely in our best 22.

3 weeks ago:eek::eek::eek:
cant be used as an excuse

i do agree he is in our best 22 but is in terrible form, find some in the sanfl

Sorry but aren’t we doing that anyway.

That is because despite popular opinion we do actually try to attack and as soon as it comes unstuck we go back into our defensive style. And I don't think that is neccessarily a decision our coach makes halfway through a quarter, I think it is a lack of confidence. What Craigy has to do is some how give our players the courage to take the game on regardless of the result. That is so much easier said than done.

Hmm... Judging on the past few performances I would say:

Out: Stevens, Cook

In: Moran, Symes (or Knights depending on SANFL form)

I don't think Stevens has been playing well since that knock over at Subi. Now, I'm not making excuses, but I just don't think he's been right since that hit. Hes been a lot slower than he used to be and isn't taking marks like he did in the first few round this year. I also think we should bring Moran in for the ruck and move Tippett into the forward line to give us another target up there because lord knows, we need one. Cook? I'm not too sure on. He's been doing a few good things, but I still think he should train up a bit more and gain some confidence in the SANFL, much like what Craigy did last year with Walker.

That's just what I think anyway. Thoughts?
