Changes For Next Week

It certainly was enjoyable watching that today in the windy stands of the 'G . Don't know how we're expected to kick goals with that game plan... and especially now with 4 more key injuries.

So with that ,doubt we can afford to drop anyone on form (of which Edwards and even McLeod 14 poss, and has he laid a tackle this year? are top of my list ) Doughty was OK although head hunters have mentioned him on here. Even Walker watching it live worked hard, but is unfavoured by the game style. Too much hard running up the ground, then knackered to run back and take on two opponents. Leave him in the forward half! Knights looked under-done, porps needs more game time and so on it goes...

So, who to replace the injured 4? Need to bring in some talls for Bock, Hentschel and Tippett... and think of the 2nd ruck!!

IN Stevens. McKernan. Will VB be fit??
What are our rookies like?? L. Thompson , Jaensch etc.. ( I dont see much of them being in Melb.) We need something!

Bottom line ****** if I know!!!

I do agree with some people on here , that its time to do something creative or fresh.

Agreed - give the kid a chance to prove himself at FF - this time last year, if I remember correctly, he was kicking a swag of goals - as long as his attitude is right, persevere with him - doesn't do a 19 year olds confidence much good to be constantly dropped, crticised and moved around IMO.

Walker is running a lot to make position I'm sure but he is a master at the 75% chase to pretend he tried to get to a tackle.

Let's face it, he is shocking at all things defensive.

Modra II

For the second week in a row let me shout it out...send him to FULL FORWARD. Sure, it's a slightly different role to the days of Dunstall and Lockett but hell, if he plays down there, he will kick 3+ goals average a game with half decent delivery.

He is being forced to play too far up the ground imo. 1 shot on goal from 55-60m

Are Bock, Hentshel, Tippett and Dangerfield definately out?
Tippett might come back, it looked like a twisted/sprained ankle. Then again, he's been nearly useless all season due to knee tendinitis, so a week or two off might do him the world of good.

Very hard to see any of the others being ready to go next week.

went to the G, hoping to see our first win, left the ground disappointed. Just hope that we don't get our first wooden spoon, it will be the worst year to get a spoon without any high draft pick (thank to Gold Coast). well, only Tigers, Dons, Eagles and the Crows fighting for the Spoon, it is going to be an interesting year.

i think i read in one of the match reports that it looked like Tippett and Bock would both be out for at least 2 weeks each. Hentschel had fluid drained, so who knows with him (could play next week if we're desperate), while we're obviously still awaiting news on Dangerfield.

Davis in for Hentschel (injured)
Smack for Tippett (injured)
Jaensch for Dangerfield (injured)
Stevens for Bock (injured)
Armstrong for Doughty (omitted never to be seen again)
Crisitunity...

Would love to see these guys get an opportunity. Perhaps Young too.

The only way that we were ever going to see any of our younger, raw players get a gig was if there was an absolute rash of injuries. Well, here it is.

If we had a plethora of players to choose from and the club was serious about not carrying passengers then as much as it pains me to say this - Tyson Edwards would be dropped.

Literally can no longer hit a target by foot from 15 metres away and struggles to hit targets by hand.

Sad to watch, I only hope he can recapture his form. :(

Edwards deserves to be dropped, but considering the cupboard is bare it wont happen though. Being honest even if we had a full list I honestly do not believe for a second that Craig would ever consider dropping Tyson Edwards.

Very surprised by the Crows start to the season as i rate you very highly. Injuries and poor preseasons has taken its toll.

It will be an interesting match next saturday. After our terrible showing on saturday night and your 0-3 start to the season, you'd think both teams would come out firing. Despite the Crows injuries it will still be a task for us to get the win - we struggle against you lot in recent years and it is of course at Aami.

I hope Dangerfield is alright, he is a great kid.

If we drop Edwards than we definately have to drop McLeod.

Huge mistake keeping them this year. Only the fact we have so many injuries and Craigs reluctance are saving them from being dropped.

Mcleod is our most senior player FFS, if there is any time he should be leading from the front is now not waiting for his next handball receive and Edwards hasnt hit a target under pressure for 3 years.

What the heck are you talking about? If we're relying on a 33 year old to be the one leading from the front then we're stuffed. And if you're seriously expecting a 33 year old to be doing so, then you're badly deluded.

McLeod should be providing the icing on the cake. Nothing more. McLeod 2010 = Crawford 2007. He's had his years (and years) of leading from the front and dominating games for us. The players in their prime (24-28) are the ones who should be leading the way. It's their time now.

Craig mentioned the following possible inclusions in the post game press conference - Van Berlo, Johncock, Stevens and Griffin. He may also have mentioned the emergencies that didn't play. I think that was Young and McKernan.

That would be the case if we had 1 or maybe 2 players over 30, but when you have 5 then we have no choice

When you have four injured players sitting on the bench plus a heap not playing, you cant afford to have icing on the cake. Everyone has to pull their weight and if in a time of crisis a player of his experience and skill can only provide icing then he shouldnt be playing. Goodwin is not far behind him in age and he leads from the front, why are you giving Mcleod a leave pass from pulling his finger out and actually getting his hands dirty?

Taylor Walker should be the first one gone. Closely followed by Edwards.

How do you figure that? Especially with Tippett going down. Now's the time for Taylor to play FF and be 1 out in the square and on the lead. He could have a huge week next week vs the Blues, we just don't know.

You tit. Four injuries means that the oldies are less likely to have an impact, not more likely. Has the trend of increased interchanges over the last few seasons completely bypassed you? How?

We have some obvious problems no doubt. But we lost to Melbourne because of injuries.

Agree that five is too many. Doughty must go for mine.

I agree with this 100% but to be fair if he can't hit an unmarked target from 20 metres away by foot then he should give it away and in the last 2 weeks he has really struggled with his skills. Goody and Bird look fine but Tyson is seriously struggling.

Nailed it! His defensive efforts were deplorable and the penny has obviously still not dropped.

More generally our tackling - both in quantity and quality - is so far away from acceptable it's a joke. As James McDonald said after the game tackling is all to do with mindset and sadly we don't have it.
