To be honest, I can't believe that Petrenko has gotten off as lightly as he has in the reviews of this game. He looked like a deer in the spotlight every time he got the ball - and that wasn't terribly often. Both Pro-Stats and Champion Data had him down for just 9 disposals. No Crows player had fewer disposals. Pro-Stats gave him a fairly generous 67% efficiency, meaning that only 6 of his disposals found a target. For the life of me, I can't remember any of those 6 disposals.

Why is his name not being bandied about for dropping, when Edwards - who managed 23 (or 25 depending on your source) disposals, of which 19 were effective, supposedly has his head on the chopping block?

It may well be but I'd hate to see Petrenko dropped. His attack on the footy and his tackling shames a number of our players at the moment.

The role he is playing - as a small forward - basically dictates that he is going to have to win a high percentage of contested possessions. At the moment he lacks the Milne-smarts to get some uncontested footy up forward, he basically has a defender up his backside every time he gets the ball and on the weekend he was pretty much tackled as soon as he got it every time.

For whatever reason, the club is giving a youngster in Petrenko the extremely difficult small forward role while McLeod, Goodwin and Doughty often get to play the cushy, behind the ball, play on the 6th best forward role. Lots of uncontested possessions, a far, far easier gig than the one Petrenko has been asked to play.

Petrenko would be perfect as a small defender IMO and I don't know why we wouldn't switch him and McLeod now. I see Peternko as McLeod's eventual replacement down there.

Yep, would hate to see Petrenko dropped. Has been pretty good at times and I can forgive him for his ball handling errors on the weekend as long as it doesnt become a continuing trend.

you kinda lost me with that last line but I think I understand what you were trying to say.

Its all well and good trying to get the players up, but how long does he need? He has had since November or whenever pre season training resumed.

This is one of NC biggest weakness, he is too late to react, on gamedays and it appears it could be the case now. Will he realise that maybe he needs to mix it up a bit in round 9 when our season is well and truely gone? (if it isnt already)

I just dont know how he can justify some of the performances from his senior players, how long do they get? Goody mentioned on the news tonight that he doesnt expect many changes, this is not the way to go IMO. Someone needs to be sacrificed to send a rocket to everyone. All it is, and all it always seems to be with NC is words, Im over listening, I want him to show us something.

Why not play Tippett on Big Bad Brain Dead Barry, regardless of what happens leave him there, play Rutten as a stay at home full forward, and try something innovative and kick long to a 1 on 1 with Porplycia crumbing ?

By the way i think people who use the terms IMHO and call Craig NC should be neutered

Why not have Charlie Walsh face paint kids at family days, just as an innovation ?

He'd kick 10 if that was the case and it would be a pointless exercise, I could understand if you suggested to float Maric or Tippett in the back 50 to play an old school ruckman role sitting behind the play, but to play Tipp at fullback is suicide and offers us no long term advantage either.

Not that is should happen but that idea would be even worse than putting Davis on him because while Phil would get totally sliced up Zac Dawson style, he would still actually be learning something that will help him in the future. Your option involves Tipp getting smashed in a position where he is not even suited to play.

Truck is our best and only option for Hall on Friday night.

Two different parts of his family spell it differently. Obviously andy is in the other half. Guess it's got something to do with a fairly long historical disagreement. Who doesn't know how to spell their name in this day and age? Apart from frednerk that is

my understanding is that happened when their dad's came to Australia. This was quite common, there were many attempts to 'westernise' names to make them easier to pronounce etc. This is certainly the case with the two I know, one side as spelt it how it sounds, the other like the J on the end of it.

NC said straight after last weeks match that he will continue to play Porplyzia

You are most probably right, it was just one of Dwayne's little factoids that he made during a game of ours about two years ago. At the time I I thought it might be somewhat credible because he would have known Andy from his days at Port.

Why do we have a six foot eight fullforward rotating four to five times of the bench with tendonitis and with a recovering ankle ? From a 56 goal full forward to one of 5 goals 27 points for the year on current stats !
