Out - Peterson, Ellis, Whitecross, Shiels

In - Renouf, Lisle, Dowler, Mitchell (if no Mitchell then Muston)

Get some height in.
Move Roughead down back, play Dowler in forward line, get Lisle some ruck time and move into forward line if matchups permit.

Give Bateman some hot chilli to get his run back

Also I hated seeing Peterson have a laugh at the end of the game, I hope he got a rocket for that

Dear god, some dreadful posting in this thread... some of the dummy spits in here are absolutely comical.

Well done girls...

Just as we do with our footy club B&G we also have to take the good with the bad with our supporters.

In: Renouf, Mitchell???? Dowler

Out: Petersen (just doesn't do enough imo)....... I don't know who else tbh because I don't think there is a need for wholesale changes because individually they are okay - although ellis, changa and birchell need to find some form and fast - but it is as a team that it hasn't quite gelled and I think this can only happen if they persist with the same side for a while and hope those who are down run into form and the game plan  is then given time to come to fruition.

Does anybody know if Sam will be back, we would have won against the roos with him playing.

He wasn't the only one - Shiels did ... heck even the coach had a laugh during the press conference when asked about the ruck situation ... very funny situation the Hawks find themselves in at 1-4.

Lets all have a good laugh.

I could say something about making three changes based on that then......but I won't :)

I thought he played in both the back line forward line and kicked a few goals. Sounds okay by me. He'd be coming into the side as the third tall and not allow our side to look like a mosquito fleet when Roughead does some ruck work. Dowler took a bag of marks, kicked a number of goals and also did rucking against Essendon when Buddy was missing and Bailey went down in Round 22, last season.

Dowler was kept around for a reason and has been playing numerous positions. Time for him to repay the faith and stretch the Essendon backline.

Also, we need someone who can kick a goal, besides Buddy. Dowler is a pretty decent shot at goal unlike Roughie, Bateman, Ellis, Young, etc, etc...
Seems to me like cheap insurance playing dowler if only to provide some support to renouf - I would rather see him ruck if required than risking players like hodge or roughy (which seems like watching a car crash about to happen).

He also provides added flexibility by being able to play forward or back.

Also like to see breust get rewarded for some good games at BH and I think muston he also due for another go.

Love to have mitch back but don't want to see him rushed back at this stage.

As far as outs peterson seems due for a game at a lower level and as others have pointed out we are seeing bad ossie at the moment - whitecross also seemed relatively ineffectual to me last week. Ellis although out of form if not injured should IMO be given one more chance - same with bateman whose disposal is quite woeful currently.

Good post BB ...

Breust was brilliant for Box Hill and should certainly get a game crumbing at the feet of Lance ahead of Peterson. I am just not sure of Rookie elevations etc.

OK but why not bring in Lisle as he is in better form than Dowler and he can also help in the ruck.

So has the club formally said what Mitchells injury is and how long they expect him out. I realise that they are not very forthcoming woth injury details but I havent heard/read anything.
Cheers

Hopefully Sammy will be back? I think we need another tall forward especially with Roughie having to spend a lot of time up the ground rucking. Muston looks like the pick of them from BHH. Have to keep Changa although not in his best form, need his pace to break lines. KT got his hands on the ball twice as much as Young so I'd keep Katey.

In: Sammy, Susan, Muston
Out: Sheils, Young, Peterson

Don't think we need wholesale changes to the 22, but should consider positional changes. Obviously we need to shore up the defence a bit. Roughy to CHB, move Franklin to a utility role and bring in a FF. So my pick would be, assiming Mitch is not ready:

B: Guerra Gilham Brown

HB: Stratton Roughead Hodge

C: JKT Sewell Birchall

HF: Rioli Shoey Bateman

F: Osborne Dowler ????? (tempted to play Murphy here)

R: Renouf Franklin Lewis

Int - Ellis Shiels Ladson Young

IN - Renouf, Dowler OUT - Whitecross, Peterson

In: Renouf, Hooper(should be right this week?) and Dowler
Out: Young, Peterson, WX,

Big month of May - 5 Games (Ess/WCE/Rich/Carl/Syd) All winnable (Syd slightly harder) - That would make us 5-5.
June - 4 Games (Port/Adel/Ess again/Bulldogs after a week off)
Could be 8-6 after 14 rounds (Trying to stay positive)

My changes :

IN - Muston ; Renouf ; Mitchell/Moss (if Mitch still injured)

OUT - Murphy ; Young ; Whitecross

Obviously Renouf mitchell and Hooper back if fit.

We need some movement in the back line to stop this crap handball, so anyone caught standing flat footed in the back line next week should be dragged off the ground and shot. I think leaving the stinking corps next to the kennedy statue might motivate a few guys to get on their bike and create an option. If the selectors think this is a bit harsh then they could just drop one of the non performing seniors.

I'm tending towards Ellis, not providing any run poor decision making backed up with poor disposal. while I'm on ellis-get into the gym

Others that should be nervous
Ozzie-pull ya head in. Need his strength speed
Bateman- WTF
Laddo- needs to improve
Young-needs more time after a long layoff
WhiteX-needs to step up

I'd like to bring in Muston for his run and long kick but can't have to many changes

I don't expect Mitchell to be fit so

IN: Renouf, Hooper, Dowler
OUT: Whitecross, Ellis, Peterson

B: Stratton, Gilham, Guerra
HB: Birchall, Schoenmakers, Murphy
C: Ladson, Lewis, JKT
HF: Rioli, Franklin, Brown
F: Hooper, Roughead, Dowler
R: Renouf, Sewell, Hodge
IC: Young, Osborne, Bateman, Shiels

Renouf has pharyngitis, which is very infectious.. I hope and pray that he hasn't infected others with it. He should never have gone to Tassie. He was couging up blood. It all depends what type of pharyngitis he has.
Viral pharyngitis is very contagious as long as the symptoms remain..
I heard Dr Turf say that Mitch has a split in his hammy. I heard Clarko saying he has had this hammy problem for 5 or 6 years, and has always managed it well. Who to believe? I guess Clarko?

INS: RENOUF, MITCHELL
OUTS: PETERSEN, BATEMAN

Petersen needs a run in the 2's & Bateman has become the turnover specialist making mistakes that a 1st year player would get criticized for.

But Brad Scott said he should have played. They breed them tough and infectious at North.

Thankfully the only infectious thing that spread at North was behind Carey's zipper :p

Reno+Mitch if both are right seem to be pretty obvious. Thankfully the dons don't look any better in the personell department at the moment with a few more soldiers down after their ANZAC day clash.

Probably no need to play around with roughy at chb this week given essendons lack of power / dominant forwards. Would rather he stay forward and abuse their backline.

I'd keep JKT in, he is one of the few that seems comfortable kicking and the best way to improve his efficiency is by giving him some game time.

Not sure we should be making too many knee-jerk reaction changes this week as the sooner we get a stable group on the park the better as they can learn and improve as a group.

FYI Hooper is listed on the HFC website as being 1 week away.

Just drop the whole team and put 22 Hawk members out there that would love to punch on with anything wearing red and black. I’ll put my hand up*.:D

*As long as the HFC will pay the medical bills

Dead right. The failure to support Renouf this season is criminal. Coaches don't seem to realise that rotating Hodge, Roughy Buddy etc through there means they're too stuffed to finish off games.

Not to mention the inevitable, stuffing up of game day structures.
Something is awry at the hawks and no one wants to fess up.

Definetly bring in Dowler for mine. With Pears injured for the Bombers, Dowler will provide another tall option to get us goals, as we need to start kicking a winning score.

Also, I would prefer Dowler in ruck as opposed to Roughy.
