BRETT "Birdman" Burton has been grounded with Crows coach Neil Craig axing the specialist forward from Saturday's line-up to play North Melbourne at Etihad Stadium - and ordering him into the gym to rebuild strength in his legs.

Burton will not return to SANFL action this weekend with Craig saying match fitness is not the issue for his one-time gamebreaker.

Interesting to see the leg strength issue being brought up, especially considering one particular poster has tried to argue there is actually no leg strength issue and it was just a figment our of imaginations that was apparently fueled by a comment made by a commentator on Sunday.

Is that the same poster who called me a fool for suggesting what the coach has now confirmed.............?

Is that also the same poster that said...............:

Burton WILL not be.......... dropped :o
Walker wasnt in competition with ...........Burton:o
Burton's form ..........was worthy of keeping in the team:o

Maybe that poster in future will not be so definative in his comments..........insulting of others and perhaps accept the evidence that is put before him repeatedly ............. :D

Craigy if you dont do anything else for the year, thanks for providing me with lots of :D:D:D:D....................

In other good news, Henderson has been passed fit to play this week as well - only catch is that Centrals have the bye.

Looks like we're taking quite a few players off our injury list this week. We can only hope that they don't have any new replacements.

:p:p .......you heard that on the TV commentary didn't you .......and now you've taken it and passing it on as fact .....oh you fool

Haha.

Wonder if a certain someone will have the class to come in and admit he was wrong.

For all those expecting some falling on the sword .....forget it :thumbsd:

Forget the paper terminology ......as I understand Burtons knee is not right, not playing .......so he's injured!

The statement by Craig ....again as I read the article is his gut feel that Burtons leg needs strengthening .....emphasis gut feel

EC get a life ...... i was gracious to apologise yesterday but your carrying on like a schoolboy .....which is probably what you are

I post my own thoughts and POV for my amusement NOT to gain approval from anyone

quite simply ....don't like my views, don't read them ......then we're all happier

See, theres nothing wrong with digging in like a stubborn ass over an issue and fighting till the very end.

The key test is whether or not you have the strength of character to admit mistake when it can be argued no longer.

I doubt that Birdman will appear on our official injury list

the bottom line is Birdman was omitted because of his form and as a result of that conversation the lack of leg power was discussed as a contributing factor

there is no structural damage to his leg, the issue is strength, IMO age is his enemy not injury

What role is Jaensch playing for the crows currently?

and

How long will he stay in the side for?

Burton, Knights, Symes, Mackay and more to come back. Surely he could be dropped next week if he doesnt perform really well. thoughts?

As for acting like a schoolboy..........perhaps you should read your post again.............:cool:

quite simply......if you have a crack at others opinions.........then we have a right to expose your repeated inaccuracies............:rolleyes::rolleyes:

now man up.......before you embarrass yourself further............:D:D:D

I'm not avoiding personal implications at all - I don't feel "special" because you treat everyone that disagrees with you with the same level of disdain and condescension.

whooosh... straight over the top. as usual

You should feel honoured.

ya think? :D

Craig has been exceptional at rebuilding this list and turning over the older brigade and yet still getting us into finals and into positions to have a shot at the flag

Craig has NOT turned over the old brigade, and has NOT rebuilt the list.

you are not a shot at the flag by making up numbers in the 8 either.

And in baseball do they look at career averages or only the play-off games ?

A-Rod. Reggie Jackson. Curt Shilling.

Fail.

sorry, epic fail more like it.

Please explain the fallacy of career stats and what alternative evaluation method you would favor

sometimes I wonder if you are just playing dumb to get attention.

big game performance has always, and will always be the gold standard. it is measured, recognised and revered above all else.

if in your world you see it differently, that's up to you.

Now your looking forward in time to qualify success ......but by the same criteria won't acknowledge the similar job Craig has done in way less time than Malthouse .......who BTW has had access to better draft picks than Adelaide

I won't acknowledge that because its not true. like too much of what you say, you either make it up and hope; or you know its a barefaced lie to begin with. either way, its pathetic.

Malthouse has rebuilt Collingwood twice, whilst craig has failed to rebuild adelaide at all.

2 > 0.

and he has done it in quicker fashion.

ha ha good one.

He was given the job over Eade & Wallace because he is a developer

no, he was given the to be a developer, not because he is one.

and so far he has failed to develop. that's why 6 years on and our best players are over 33.

You're right. Our defensive unit is identical to what it was six years ago, as is our forward line. What I wouldn't give for an All-Australian FB/CHB combination to handle the monster forwards. Goodwin, McLeod, Edwards, Ricciuto and Stenglein remain our starters in the centre for the vast majority of game time, and once Biglands and Doc "wish I could take a grab" Clarke return from injury we'll have our core back. We're still searching for a full forward, bit of luck and we'll snag one in the next few years.

I tire of McLeod and Ricciuto monopolising our best and fairest awards. When's the last time we had a 50+ goal kicker that wasn't Welsh? Terrible effort Neil.

When's Torney due back? :thumbsu:
