Out: Macaffer, Davis, Wood, Obree
In: Lockyer, Dick, Meddas, Anthony

Macaffer has been playing half back and thats where you can put Tarkyn. You could even jack there and see how he goes. Dick takes Leons forward line spot. Obree and wood are dropped for 2 forwards, but with our flexibility of most of our players I think we will be fine.
Jolly can ruck all day, and if he does need a break pinch hit Dawes or even Trav in there. Worked for the Cats with Hawkins.

B: Harry , Brown , Reid
HB: Shaw , Maxy , Toovey
C: Didak , Swan , Thomas
HF: Meddas , Dawes , Anthony
F: Dick , Cloke , Beams
Foll: Jolly , Ball , Pendles
Int: Wellingham, Sidebutt, Lockyer , Johnson

I think we have been resting presti,it is good management as you will need only 12 wins to make 8....
We have 7 wins so i think we are traveling well and are in a position to do so.....

Leon has to go and find some form,he has been lost...:(

Fev and brown could both be out so it would not surprise me to see no presti, geelong was 1 game,we have been playing well with the younger guys and think they still might get a go,after all we did just lose to the team going for its 4th grand final appearance and 3rd flag...

To all those calling for Dick to be rushed back and included are delusional. He is still another 4-6 weeks from resuming for mine. He has only played 1 game all season and that was a week ago. His match conditioning is very low.

If we bring Dick in, we may as well play Rus too on that basis- which just won't happen.

Two goalless weeks in a row now for Dawesy. Pressure is now on. One more poor performance and Jack walks straight into his spot at his expense.
Rubbish. Dawes was excellent against Fremantle. Would have had a goal if the umpire had paid his clear mark 15m out, but regardless had 20 or so possessions and 5 goal assists.

Obviously his game against Geelong was poor, not defending him on that one, but let's not rewrite history.

Dawes should go really well against the injury decimated backline of Brisbane, he definitely won't/shouldn't lose his spot.

^ 5 trades is excessive for our first loss since round 2

Outs: Obree, Davis, Macaffer/Brown
Ins: Barham, Medders (if fit), Tarks/Presti

if medders doesnt come up im good with lockyer replacing davis instead.
if presti can play this week then he'll be almost a certainty id imagine

Sorry to all those Medhurst, Presti, Fraser and Dick fans, but why the f*** would we take players recovering from injuries up to the rock-hrad Gabba pitch?

Well played TRS :p

i just think some of those changes are unnecessary
Wood for Fraser - Fraser whilst being impressive against sub standard opposition, doesnt mean he NEEDS a call up. if theres still a doubt about his fitness, leave him out. Wood will be all the better for the run

I agree with the other 4 not being our best performers against geelong, i hardly think that based on that game alone we should drop macaffer. Bringing in medhurst without a run in the VFL is unlikely, which is why i put if fit.

If Jonno brown doesnt play due to injury, then do we need presti? He didnt play against the cats 2 big men, why would we take him up to the gabba?

i dont know, could be well off the mark...who knows what MM thinks

Fair point re Medhurst and Fraser, although its arguable whether playing Davis at the Gabba is a smart idea either. He is clearly carrying a groin injury.

But Presti isnt injured and hasnt been for weeks. Dick was recovering from an injured shoulder - the hard ground is hardly going to be an issue. That said, he's only played one game and doesnt have the match fitness anyway.

I'd go with something along the lines of

Out: O'Bree, Wood, Brown, Davis
In: Tarks, Anthony, Presti, Medhurst,

I actually really think Swan and Ball both need to be "rested" in the coming weeks. Swan had his knee heavily strapped and on occasions looked proppy. I think it maybe one of the reasons he spent so much time behind the ball on Friday night.Ball too will need to be managed well and at times looked sore on Friday night.

Ok not exactly straight swaps and probably not the most popular or likely but on team balance this is what I'd like to see.

O'Bree out, Tarks to come in and play as the small HFF, Beams and Pendles to spend more time into the midfield.

Wood out, Dawes to pinch hit in the ruck, Anthony, Dawes, Cloke tried as a three tall foward line. Similar to what we just saw Geelong do to us with Hawkins. There is not point playing a specialist back up ruckmen (i.e Wood or Fraser) if they are going to offer nothing. It might be a good way to trial Anthony, Dawes and Cloke in the same foward line and a way to get Dawes involved in the game when playing poorly.

Brown out for Presti is a straight swap, Although this is one game where both Brown and Presti could play in the same side.

Davis for Medhurst this is the one that troubles me the most as we are losing a bit hypothetically at ground level in this one. Davis plays (or should play) small and Medhurst typically plays taller. That said at the moment Davis isn't being effective and only really offers defensive pressure, Medhurst is equally good in this regard.

IN- Presti (only if Brown plays) Medders (if fit) Lockyer (if Presti doesn't come in)

Out - Davis, Caff,

Out Davis, wood, obree, caff/brown
in Lockyer, Fraser, medhurst presti

medhurst and Lockyer can both provide much more then obree qbd Davis currently, I'd have Davis out for a solid month personally

And wood well lucky he isn't Fraser with his current form, he'd know heat then.

Depends on whether Brisbane play three talks or three smalls forward between caff and brown

Agree with the Davis out though, need someone like Dick to come in.

Dick a few weeks off however Davis has again proven his reputation as a flat track bully. Repeatedly fails in the big dances.
Medhurst if fit the obvious choice or Lockyer who at least will give an honest contest.

Jack had 1 goal and 5 goal assists vs Freo and it still wasn't enough to save him.

I'm just using that kind of output as a precedence.

Another shocker by Dawes this week is dangerous territory for him to be in.

Playing as a third target foward JA had 12 disposals 3 goal assits and one goal for a 4 goal contributions. Whilst playing at CHF Dawes had 19 possies, no goals and 3 goal contirubtions.

We have to get back to our attacking gamestyle, especially against a weakened Lions outfit with next to no backline.

In: Anthony, Medhurst, Prestigiacomo
Out: MaCaffer, O'Bree, N.Brown

O'Bree doesn't belong in our side anymore, we can get him his 5 games later on to get him to 250, then it's thank you but goodbye.

MaCaffer has to be punished, you can't miss shots like that in big games and expect to stay in.

Nathan Brown is unlucky, but I don't want to see him on Brown or Fev just yet.

PRESTI HAS TO PLAY.

Brisbane's backline is in tatters atm.

Merrett and Drummond already injured, and now Adcock has gone in for surgery.

The only changes i would make are that Wood and O'Bree have to go out, and Fraser and Medders back in.

I'd also change Brown for Presti, but only if Jon Brown plays, if JB doesn't pull up then i'd leave Presti out and see how the young guys go playing on Fev.

+1. These are the only changes I'd like to see made. Until we have a suitable replacement, Davis stays. Caff needs to get dropped for those misses, not acceptable.

Fair point, but I would have retained JA after that game anyway.

My revised changes.

OUT: Wood, O'Bree, Brown
IN: Anthony, Medhurst, Presti

Both Fraser and Wood have been disappointing this season and there is no point having a second ruck if they are going to do SFA. Dawes can pinch hit when Jolly needs a rest. I think this could see Jolly into some form, just give him good ruck time against two younger rucks in Leuey and Clark.

does everyone else view his games this way? cos if so i'll go back to the replays, but honestly i can't see where the wood criticism is coming from.
Go back through the tapes and you wont like what you see, he is just not up to it at this stage. Fraser in more mine and Davis has to either get a run through the midfield to gain some confidence or back to the 2's to do so.

OUT: O'Bree
IN: Medhurst

I hate the fact that when O'Bree is in the side Pendles doesn't play on the ball as much. What the hell is with that?
