I hate the fact that when O'Bree is in the side Pendles doesn't play on the ball as much. What the hell is with that?

Yeah what a load of crap :thumbsd: I'd have Pendles in the middle the whole time. Has clean hands and can release someone into space something O'Bree doesn't do that well.Oh yeah and can actually kick properly.

That said, the last 2 weeks O'Bree has spent more time on the HFF, .

If O'Bree is a better half forward option than Anthony, Medhurst, Dick, L Brown or Lockyer I'll eat my hat.

The only reason O'Bree should stay in the 22 is if he spends most of his time in the clearances. I'd probably drop him anyway except for the fact that Macaffer and Davis have to go first.

Or maybe because his performance has reduced drastically this year, his time in the centre has suffered.

No, since he was being played away from the middle from Rd 1, plus during his stints in the centre he's dominated as per usual. He just looks poor as an outside player, which has always been evident.

Agreed. But I'd eat a hat factory if he's a better clearance player than SP.

O'Bree has to go, he should be depth for Ball.

I think he should be the 22nd bloke picked, you think he should be dropped.

Its line ball. I'm not trying to defend him. I just think he might get a reprieve this week because Macaffer and Davis have to go first, and Wellingham is a bit rusty after injury.

I agree with the above. As much as I believe O'Bree should only be a depth player he has been better than the above 2. Wellers will come good.

Why would we want Fraser back in the side when he causes SO LITTLE headaches for an opposition team?

Let's weigh Wood and Fraser up.
Both haven't performed in the ruck
Both haven't been great around the ground
Both haven't stood up when it counts
Both can and have kicked goals

FRASER is old, WOOD is young and needs game time
FRASER is injury prone and often leaves our team with 3 on the bench, WOOD has isn't
FRASER cannot take a mark on a decent player to save himself, WOOD has great hands
--------------------------------------------------------------------

Furthermore, let's look who we are playing - a depleted backline, an old midfield and Fevola (30% possibilty of playing Brown)

If we want a big win, we bring in Presti for Macaffer - lets face it, he's offered us nothing so far. Presti to play on Fev.

If J. Brown plays I would love to see a rotation of Ried and N Brown on him - to learn how one of the best plays.

Our midfield is totally fine no changes, we will make Brisbanes look like a VFL team.

Our rucks are fine, Clark is playing well below par and will be beaten by Jolly, and Wood can go head to head with Luenberger. Possibly rest Jolly if he is under a cloud (as someone mentioned), especially on the Gabba.

Our forward line - O'bree cannot be seen here, let alone on our team at all - Medhurst needs some game time and must get back in for O'bree if we want him to be firing for the Bulldogs game.
If Medhurst is suffering on the turf - we have enough players to kick goals to be able to limit his TOG.

On a side note about my friends LEON DAVIS:

Davis is still very important to this team and I think (as many have stated) is good defensively BUT he is concentrating wayyy to much on defending the ball from his opposition than trying to kick a goal.
This has alot to do with the teams we have played in the last few rounds and the lack of opportunies he is getting due to their pressure. Not to mention without Medhurst there he has been playing very close to the goals instead of being able to roam around the arc and beyond.

HE needs to find some form in this game and regain some confidence in handling the ball. I would love for him and Cloke to swap positions and Davis be able to run up the ground and use his far superior (to Clokes) kicking to set up one of Dawes or Cloke.

If you can't be fagged reading what i wrote -
IN: Prestigiacomo, Medhurst
OUT: Macaffer, O'bree
(if you want to know why, read what i wrote ;))

Wood has great hands.... He definitely looks better but he isn't taking the grabs, even the one he got awarded dawes marked.

I thought he was quite good in the Geelong game with his marking - i rememebr a mark he took from a Geelong rebbound over the top of a Geelong player, very strong.
I've only seen the game once, I might watch the replay and reply.

(Also in addition to my last post, Scarlett did have to attend to Wood when he went forward - this would never happen in Fraser's case)

Wood has great hands:eek: I am missing something!!!

Sorry Wood, you have got some good qualities but great hands, I am not so sure about that.

Hmmm and I wouldn't say Fraser is old, I would say he has experience. Experience counts in the big games.

Davis Out
Anthony In
Davis is struggling and needs a rest, if he has a niggle then playing on the GABBA may not be the best thing for him. Anthony played well against the dockers and was surprised he was dropped in the first place, also he will help stretch the depleted lions defence.

Ried/Brown Out
Presti In
If Presti is good to go then he should come in. A lot of people are saying Brown out as he plays like Presti and doesn't give much run out and two players like that may be to much. I think Reid could go though as he was beaten by Mooney whereas Brown beat Jpod. Considering Jbrown is under an injury cloud though, and even if he plays it it won't be at 100%, it wouldn't bother me if no change occurs here and this also allows Presti to avoid the GABBA pitch and the travel.

Agree that Wood doesn't have great hands, he has better hands then Fraser though and by comparison could probably get called great - though that might say more about Fraser.

Experience does count in big games though I don't think Brisbane could qualify as a 'big game'. It is an important game, like every match, especially coming off a loss, but Brisbane sit 11th on the ladder and have lost their last five games. Add to that they have been decimated by injury and their best player is clearly battling some sort of niggle or injury. If this qualifies as a big game then every game we play is a big game, no wonder we occasionally suffer from blockbuster fatigue:rolleyes:

Barham seems to be getting a lot of love of late.
Has he been outstanding in the VFL?

Yer very well, last two games he has got 30+ touches in each of the games and his disposal is improving as well.

Yes and his disposal has improved a lot.

To me, there is no point playing players like O'Bree and Lockyer who aren't going to be the difference between a win and a loss (in fact have they ever stamped their mark on a game) when we could be investing in young talent. If it fails it fails, but at least we tried it.

I think that, coupled with Barhams form is what has made him the flavour of the month. I'd still like to see McCarthy (i know hes injured) over Barham; played a lot with him and he is definitely a serious talent. Would love to see him get a run of games (and not against St Kilda)
