Assuming Davis needs at least a week off, Bock gets up, and Macca is gone for a while I would think the changes are fairly obvious:

Bock in for Davis,
Symes in for McLeod, and
Schmidt in for Edwards, since he was the unfortunate one to make way for the swansong; despite having a week off with Westies having the bye.

Any other suggestions? Any candidates to be dropped in addition to the forced outs? I wouldn't think so.

Jaensch, Schmidt were the likely contenders whose SANFL clubs had byes. Anyone know if they played elsewhere?

I guess the only other uninjured contenders with match fitness are
Talia
Cook
Gunston
Henderson
Sellar
Shaw.

Going on Drummond's SANFL threads, none of the above list are banging down Craig's door.

Bernie is listed as 'Test' but still needs to do his penance with the Eagles.

It was Cook who was left out for Edwards, Phil Harper made it clear that Schmidt was getting dropped regardless.

Apparently Cook didnt have a good game (? didnt see it myself) but with Davis and 2 HBF/mids going out you'd think hes still the best (only?) option for the third in behind Bock and Symes.

Bock/Talia for Davis
Symes for Mcleod
Henderson for Edwards

I agree that if Bock does not come up then its time for Talia, however this would leave a big match up problem for Franklin...assume Truck/ Roughead so hard to see Talia going up against Franklin in his first game.

OUT: Davis (inj), McLeod (inj), Edwards (retired)
IN: Bock/Talia, Symes, Cook

Talia will only be selected if Bock fails his fitness test.

Symes now has 3 SANFL games under his belt and that should be enough to give him a reasonable level of match fitness. He'll probably be a little off the AFL pace, but that won't be fixed by an extra week in the SANFL. I wasn't the least bit surprised that he was given a 3rd week with Centrals this week, as he'd missed a lot of footy - but a 4th week is stretching things a bit.

Cook was the player who missed out because of Edwards' farewell selection. He'll be the one who comes back into the team. Schmidt "has a few things to work on" and won't have had a chance to do so on the weekend, given that his team had the bye.

Emergencies would probably be Sellar (covering for the talls), Henderson and Schmidt. Talia's either in the 22, or not in the team at all.

Bock for Davis
Symes for McLeod
Cook for Edwards

I realize that Cook had a bad game on Saturday, however, i think Sloane had a not so good game in the SANFL the week before Freo too.

In any case, i feel we need someone with a little bit of run as the 2nd replacement - hence Cook (otherwise we're down to Jaensch, Henderson.

Maybe Wright could get elevated?

Bock/Talia for Davis
Symes for McLeod
Wright (if we can get him elevated)/............................there isn't anybody ****ing demanding a spot for Edwards. It'll go to Cook, but I just don't like his kicking. I'll just worry everytime he drops the ball.

We CAN elevate Wright for R12, as this is when the freebie rule kicks in - we're allowed to elevate one rookie from R12 onwards without the need for them to replace an LTI listed player.

However, doing so would mean dropping one of Jaensch, Schmidt & Henderson back to the rookie list in R14, when Martin comes OFF the LTI list. Anyone care to place a bet on which player is preferred - Jaensch or Wright?

Cook doesn't deserve to come back in. Schmidt didn't play, i'd bring in Hendo or Gunston again + Symes and Bock/Talia for Edwards, Davis, and Mcleod.

we have a surplus of tall forwards
drop Henderson back

Presuming that Vince gets up, the Eagles have a bye this week, so does this mean he's still two weeks away? Or can her serve in another club? Or can the bye just count as his punishment?

I agree that Talia comes in if Bock does not come up. If Talia does play how do you see his match ups....Rutten would take Roughead I assume, does Talia take Franklin in his first game? Would seem a tall order.... If not who does take Franklin?

Doughty
he fits the Massie mould doesn't he?

It means that he gets another week's rest and can serve his punishment when the Crows have the week off (split round).

In the absence of Bock; Stevens to Franklin, Rutten to Roughead. Let's hope they don't try Schmidt.

In Sellar Symes Cook

Out the obvious three, Macca Davis Edwards.

Sellar if Bock injured still. Most likely CHB candidate against Buddy/Roughy.
Symes for Davis and is about ready on form at the Doggies, and is in our best 22.
Cook, wasn't he the one to make room for Edwards.

Yeah - and then he came out and had a 9 touch game for South
Talia - 11
Wright - 21 (and 2 goals)
Symes - 25 (and a goal)
Gunston - 4
Henderson - 9 (and 2 goals)
Jacky - 17

Clearly Jacky in.

I want to see it just for the bitching on this board:thumbsu:

Stevens or Sellar on Roughhead. Truck to take Franklin. I can't see us trying a relative newbie on either of these two. Roughie is not in the best of form, but could be played in.
Symes must come back in. Other than that, it's a lottery.

Jaensch is in the doghouse after his boozy night out with Vince, hence why he's the player at risk of being demoted back to the rookie list.

I'd be very surprised if they were considering dropping either Henderson or Schmidt back.
